Dear Arisa Ichigaya,

You are my everything in Bandori. For months, you’ve stuck with me, crying with me when I don’t get a four star, screaming with joy with me when I get one. Patting me on the back when I get a 25-level FC.

So maybe you haven’t actually been there. So maybe you’ve just been in my mind, but you still mean the world to me.

I’ll admit that at first, I didn’t really care for you (it seems impossible now, but . . .) and instead paid more attention to some of the other characters I liked, like Ran and Kanon and Hagumi (although I don’t really care for Hagu anymore.)

But when I got the part of you for a comic dub on another website, I had to dig a little deeper to discover how I should portray your voice in English.

I discovered lots. I discovered your love of bonsai, the way you would rather stay inside all day by yourself than go outside and interact with people, and the way you can’t stop surfing the Internet. I can relate to the last two things (I don’t do bonsai but I saw a little bonsai kit at a bookstore and I may just have to try it in honor of you.)

Just like you, social interaction just doesn’t come naturally to me. I’d be much happier to just be left to my own devices— literally— than go and do stuff with my peers.

And the internet thing.

Just yeah.

After all this ‘research,’ I discovered I really did like you more than I thought I did at first. At the time, Moca was my favorite, but without me even noticing, you were creeping up the list.

And soon you became my favorite, and have been for the last long while. I can’t even remember when the ‘last long while’ started.

An overall summary? You are amazing and beautiful and wonderful and smart and kind and perfect in your own tsundere-sweetheart way. You are incredible and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise.

I’m sorry this is so long and you probably don’t have time to read it. Also you’d better believe I talk about you to everyone.
