I've been driving more lately. I'm good at it but I absolutely hate doing it, so I barely ever do it and I'm super out of practice ... so I've pretty much been driving my mom all over the place. I applied for a volunteer's position where if I get it I'll have to drive a lot so I don't have much of a choice, but ughhh ... I'm fine (/ I actually enjoy) driving on an open road or the highway but the city is my sworn enemy it's so very exhausting ... I'd rather just take the train, thank you ...

however! being behind the wheel means I have the only power worth to pursue in this situation: I get to pick the music.

so yeah I've been essentially forcing my mother to listen to BanDori & argnv music for these past couple of days and there's nothing she can do about it. it's what I listen to the most (well, that and Love Live songs) and I vastly prefer that over the same three songs I don't vibe with much being repeated on the radio, so I just turn on my playlist.

she listens to my covers on YT, but anime music isn't really her style; I'm waiting for the one song that has her say it's actually really good. so far shuffle has been unkind and focusing majorly on HaroHapi though (Kokoro's voice as much as I love it isn't the best way to get into anime music when you're used to western stuff lol), so we've still got a ways to go. maybe I'll just turn on RAS next, or I think she could also like PoPiPa.

but the problem with RAS is the same problem I have with Gyroaxia. it's the kind of music that ... just makes me wanna speed ... I'M NOT GONNA. but I wanna. 150 km/h on the highway while Hell or Hell plays at full volume could maybe get even me to enjoy driving. (I mean, 150 km/h isn't THAT rare here since there's no speed limit on highways unless otherwise specified, but.)

and the other thing is that since these are songs I actually enjoy listening to rather than just tolerate going on in the background, I find myself singing along all the time ... I don't rly sing along when I'm listening with headphones, but if it's playing out of speakers, you bet. heck, I even sing along with songs I don't like much if I've heard them enough. when I'm driving alone with my dad it often turns into mini concerts cause we both do it, but my mom isn't used to it ... and then we have situations like

me, at the bridge of Sanctuary: konna ni mo kitto, konna ni mo zutto, aaaaah-- I'm gonna spare you that last note

mom: thank you

fhkfdkghs I will have you know that I COULD HAVE gotten that note but I wasn't warmed up so it wouldn't have been pretty lol.

also, I've been catching up on some of the argnv streams I missed that they archived (which is most of them, because I like to be asleep), and last night I watched the Gyro AAside one and most of what I have to say is Jin-kun just does whatever he damn well pleases and I respect him for that pffFFF ... he seems like a fun person to be around whenever he's on. they all do, really.

whenever I see stuff with the BanDori seiyuu (both argnv and the girls' side) I really get the feeling that they're all having a great time and love their characters / the franchise as well as their colleagues a lot rather than it just being a job for them. it's similar with other franchises, but idk, it feels special with BanDori. I've said before that BanDori as a whole feels like it's infused with the love and care of everyone who works on it in a way that I've rarely seen before or since with multimedia franchises like this, and I definitely get the same feeling watching the seiyuu. it makes my heart very warm
