The main goal of our April Fools hunt was to have fun and get cool badges
But the 2nd goal was to make you discover new features of Bandori Party you may not know!
A side effect for us was that we discovered some features were barely used because you guys didn't know about them.
With that in mind, we tried to find different ways to present them and we hope you'll find these more convenient and will start using these features.
As usual, we'd love to hear your feedback on the changes and let us know as well if there are other features that you find hard to see~
★ "Can't use Patreon?" button
Many of you assumed it was an external link, but it's actually just a button to show more options to donate!
I added a small arrow which I hope will make that more clear.
★ Alternative views for cards
Most people weren't aware that we were offering various ways to see cards.
I decided to move them directly in the navbar, with an arrow ↳ showing they're part of the cards.
The available alternative views were:
- Icons (quick add) -> This one didn't change
- Statistics -> Got a direct link in the navbar
- Art, Art trained and Transparent -> These were removed
- "Chibis" was an alternative view of costumes, because chibis are linked to costumes -> A direct link has been added in the navbar
★ Direct link to comics
Not a lot of people were visiting our comics gallery, and we think it's because it was hidden in the "Gallery" which you access from the "Girls Band Party" dropdown.
Comics may be from the game, but BanG Dream! fans who don't play the game may also be interested in reading them, so I added a direct link in the "BanG Dream!" dropdown.
Another possible reason why people don't read them much is that the last added show first, and they're all in Japanese. I've made it so by default, the comics are filtered by the language you speak. You can always use the side bar to select "all" if you want to see the comics in Japanese or other languages.
Once again, we'd love to hear your feedback on the changes and let us know as well if there are other features that you find hard to see!

♥️ Suzu's choice
Our guest judge will use her extensive experience and knowledge in cosplay to judge all the entries and pick the best!
#1 mayumori-
I’m absolutely in love with the outfit. There are so many cute details! The material choice is really nice, I love the mix of glitter and lace! I just can’t believe how much work was put in this! The location choice is also so creative, it’s very dreamy and totally suits Aya!
#2 freya
This photoshoot is insanely amazing! I love location, I love photographers work, I love how accurate the costume is. I can believe she was able to find such nice and fitting fabric for skirt! I especially like the 3rd picture with a wink, the motion on it is so captivating. <3

Wow these girls managed to make these costumes in 48 hours!!! They’re soooo cute and as a Misaki fan I’M CRAZY about their Michelle! It’s definitely the best Michelle I’ve ever seen!
I love this picture so much! The location is very fitting and the dress is incredibly neatly made!
She’s such a perfect Yukina! I love details on the costume! ❤
Staff honorable mentions
-
- LatidoReMe (Bandori Party staff;Developer): "While the photos could use some improved focus, they did a stunning job on the outfit! The Pirate Set is one of the most detailed and over-the-top outfits in the game, yet they managed to create a realistic version of it AND use it in a very marine setting. Alongside the scroll and bubble gun, it's a really fun set of cosplay photos that I think would be inspiring to other cosplayers."
- violetR (Bandori Party staff): "The costume is super cute and detailed, and the photos are amazing that they had done! I feel like this cosplayer went all out on the character, setting, and costume and she should be recognised for the amazing effort!"
-
- db0 (Developer): "You look so happy wearing that Kasumi cosplay and it looks so colorful on you! It's so nice that you made it yourself. I looked at the WIP photos and I can see you put a lot of effort into it. Overall, I love the positive attitude and confidence in the photo, and the effort you put into making the costume."
- violetR (Bandori Party staff): "I love that she made it herself. The costume has a ton of little embellishments that normally I think most cosplayers would prefer to buy instead of make. She also feels like a really authentic Kasumi in the cosplay. Super cute!"
-
- LatidoReMe (Bandori Party staff;Developer): "The tilted composition of the photo is eye-catching, and the cosplay is extremely well done! They captured the most defining aspects of the outfit and applied them in a realistic sense, which is a hard task indeed. For making me want to casually strut around as Pengin Kanon, I give them my top pick."
-
- db0 (Developer): "THIS IS SO CUTE. I love that you made your outfits together and you picked an outfit that's not cosplayed very often. It's so nice that you all went to a convenience store for a photoshoot. I think you all played the character well, both with the work on the outfits and wigs, and with the way you portrayed them on the picture."
- kyuchiin☆ (Circles judges panel): "I love how they worked as a group in their cosplay!"
-
- kyuchiin☆ (Circles judges panel): "I love how in character they were as kaoru and the cosplay!"
-
- kyuchiin☆ (Circles judges panel): "I love how they look exactly like kaoru and the progress of the cosplay!"
-
- LatidoReMe (Bandori Party staff;Developer): "For the photo, I love how well they utilized depth of field! The first photo especially excels at this, making it so that you are naturally motivated to view the focused part of the image. I also am a big fan of how the photo compositions too. Alongside an accurate version of Roselia's 2nd Initial Costumes, it's overall a great entry."
-
- db0 (Developer): "I love how you tried to recreate both the Saaya album cover and the WEGO photoshoot. Both of your entries really stood out because of the effort you put into making them picture perfect~"
-
- db0 (Developer): "We can really see all the details of the costume you made in your photos. Amazing job, it looks amazing. I hope you will have fun at Magfest and Katsucon and you will take a lot more photos for us~"
-
- violetR (Bandori Party staff): "It's a simple selfie, but the facial expression and the use of a selfie makes it feel like an Authentic Behind-the-Scenes Arisa, trying to hide admiring herself. The make up and costume are simple, but the energy behind it is just as great as any other detailed entry!"

Gaming terms explaination
HP/SP: your most crucial bars. HP represents your life. (HP stands for Health Points) and SP is your Spell Points (or Stamina if you are physical) if HP reaches 0 your character is practically dead. and if you got 0 SP. you can't cast spells. or use skills (three will be visible. ELF as well. Element Link Force, which allows you to cast some devastating elemental skills.)
an EXP bar is visible in the game of bandori As well. do you see that colorful bar near the level and in the other side you see boost lives? that vertical bar is your EXP bar. (short of Experience.) when your experience bar is full, you're gaining a level. So I wondered if there should be 1 for everything, or 2 for J.Lv and C.LV. (Job/Character)
Level cap is the HIGHEST level you can reach within the game. after that there are no level ups. SO~
2500 as a level cap is TOO HIGH!
jeez.
a SUPERBOSS is a powerful monster you cannot beat alone. you will need a group to defeat it. or like a whole server. depends on how tough our team will decide to make it. uwu
Attributes are the stats that describe the character's weaknesses and strengthes. (like Performance/Technique/Visuals inside the game) and such. 9 billion or 2500 attributes are too many to account.
Guilds: are large groups that share the same goal together. typically consisting of several tens to several hundreds of members.
groups are the same. but typically up to 8-9 members.
A novice is a classless character. that can expertise into the desired class.
Currency is money if you didn't know. (like coins/stars in banpa. coins is the ingame currency. you can buy equipment. sell it, set up stalls. smith, smelt, compound. etc. Stars in the game. (I think Neo credit sounds good) is the premium money. you can buy boosts with it, gacha for cute outfits, pets. revival runes. etc.
and lastly: a Group quest. (Also known as Party Quest) is a quest meant to be done in a group of players. the monsters are signinficantly more powerful comparing to the usual bunch and requires taking care from many aspects. it can be an artifact retrieval. boss defeat, etc. ~
as for dimensional appearance. 2D is a flat appearance. kinda like right now in bandori. 3D is adding volume. and you can rotate. 2.5 is kinda a blend between the two.~
and GUI stand for Game User Interface. that has many components. (character stats, Target, Skill bars, Map, chat, menu, etc) a SCATTERED GUI is one that has each component for it's own. an example of scattered GUI: https://cdn.mmos.com/wp-content/gallery/perfect-world/Perfect-World-dreamkill-moth.jpg while all in one bulks all data in one zone. except for the map. (A good example is maplestory. you got everything on the bottom) the scattered GUI is editable. (to an extent) and all in one is NOT editable. I hope this explains about my #NFO #SURVEY
Rinon
It’s halloweeen (or well it will be soon over here) so I tried to carve a pumpkin with the same face as my saya neso!
i know some of the features look disproportionate but I haven’t done this in like four years so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

FAQ
What if it isn’t summer where I live?
Hey mate, you are free to do winter instead, and will be able to enter the "Summertime Sweetheart" category just like the other summer pictures. We just want you to capture the essence of your current season!
I don't feel like taking summer-themed photos, can I just take normal photos of my merch?
Yes. It will not qualify for the "Summertime Sweetheart" category, but you still have a chance to win in the other categories!
Do I need a good camera and good photography skills?
Any camera will do. If the quality ends up not being so good, you won't be able to win the "Picture Perfect Idol" category, but you can still use your creativity and take your chance to win in the other categories!
What if I don't have a lot of merch?
You don’t need “a lot” to do well in this contest! Even one item is fine. It might not get you to win the "SUPER OSHI" category, but we care about quality over quantity, so get creative, and see what summer-themed things you can create, or show off your photography skills!
What if I don't have any merch, at all?
Get creative, create your own! Printed characters work too! (As long as you use official images, your own art, or fan-art with the artist's consent + credit)
Do I have to use official merch only, or fan-made are allowed?
Fan-made merch are allowed, but we insist that you should do your best to find the artist and link to their store. Of course, you are also allowed to use your own merch.
Can I re-use old photos?
Yes, but they need to match the theme and you need to take them yourself. We might ask you for proof or retakes if we can't say for sure that you took them, and we may eliminate you if we find out you didn't.
I am not able to give you my address, can I still participate and get a prize?
We will be able to give you a digital prize instead, so feel free to join.
Most BanG Dream! characters are not idols, and Pokémon are not idols, can I still enter with a BanG Dream! / Pokémon themed photo?
Yes! We are aware that not all of them are idols, but we use this word because it's an easy shortcut.
Do I need to specify which category I'm entering?
You don't need to specify which categories you're entering.
Can I photoshop or edit my photos to add decoration, stickers, etc.?
You may add decorations, stickers, or do any kind of post-processing if you'd like. However, for the "Summertime Sweetheart" category, we will only take into account summer-themed decorations that are in the actual photo.
Can I include people in the photo?
Yes, you can include whatever you want in the photo as long as it's aligned with the general rules for activities and it contains some merch of any kind.
Any other question?
Reply in the comments section and we will do our best to help you.

You've been waiting for it and you've been asking us about it over and over again. Here they are! The final, grand winners of Petite Idol Studio - Summer Paradise Ed. 2018
Going through all the entries and rating them to make a decision was something really nice to do, but it was also a very time-consuming task, so setting that time aside was a bit of a challenge for our staff teams. That's why we're only sharing the results now.
The judges were staff members and contributors of all our websites and they made sure to follow the rules and guidelines to make a fair, unbiased judgement.
It was tough because all the entries were really amazing!
The final ranking is truly impressive and we're really happy and proud to have organized this contest and to see the community come together and create beautiful things.
We all hope you will love and support our lovely winners as much as we love them!
After stocking up on merch for so long, today's your time to brag! Show off your extensive collection and dedication to your favorite idols to win!

Alrighty, I just wanted to address something that's been on my mind with the Afterglow Persona collab coming up.
So, after the reveal of the Persona cards last week, it was kinda expected there'd be some controversy in regards to specifically Himari's card and the... let's say, implications the card has. I don't want to go into depth about that stuff because I don't want to cause any discourse.
That would be bad for me because well, I'm a staff member. And I gotta be professional and whatnot.
There was a post about Himari's card, and while I won't name-drop people, the comments on it got a bit heated. Not enough to be of grand concern, but I am glad that the people from that post have resolved that argument.
But there was something from that said post that irked me. It was a comment along the lines of "bushimo/craftegg have a male audience they have to appeal to."
Can I be perfectly honest? I hate this line of thinking with Bandori.
Yes, I know. Everyone says it about every single Japanese mobage with a cast that consists of mainly girls. "The developers gotta make fanservice-y content to rake in the money from the thirsty side of the fandom!!
But... when it comes to Bandori, I just can never agree with it.
Yes, Bandori was a dying franchise 2-3 years ago and without the game, none of us would have never even known such a franchise existed. Yes, the game got the Bandori franchise the budget it needed to be able to create all this content and do all these great collaborations. Yes, the money the whales and dolphins and whatever other names we have for people who spend a lot of money on mobages spent is what keeps the game servers up and running.
But you know, the money comes from somewhere. It comes from the people who took the time to download the game, get invested into its story and its characters and felt a real connection to it. It comes from the playerbase.
Yes, there are game developers that forget this and maybe I'm biting off more than I can chew because I know literally nothing about the game development industry by saying this, but yes some of them will eventually lean towards the profitable side of the industry rather than the side that actually helps their games thrive.
I just don't think Bandori has those kinds of game developers. Not yet, at least, and hopefully, not ever.
I'd recommend you all to read this article. It's an interview with CEO of Craft Egg and one of Bushiroad's producers about Bandori, and I think it gives a lot of insight to how the developers think of their game. So next time you think, "the developers don't care about the Bandori playerbase," just know they genuinely do.
