The Afterglow girls are all gathered around on Tomoe’s living room sofa, except for Moca. It's as night as can be.

“Moca, you’re blocking the only light in here. Hurry up and put the movie on.”

Moca snickers and turns away from the TV to face the girls. “Okaaaay, Ran. This movie is called ‘Night of the Dudebro 7: Entrails Hang Loose, Man.’” She turns away and with TV remote, hovers over the play button below the film synopsis. “Legends say it’s so terrifying, that your adrenaline will force your testosterone into overdrive. You wake up the next day with a full beard and body hair galoooooore.”

Tomoe laughs. She quiets down after observing that no-one else is laughing. Tsugumi’s mouth wobbles as she tries to speak. “I’m sure we’ll be fine, girls… Let’s just… stay close while we watch it, right?”

Himari sacrifices her coolness by agreeing out loud. Everyone else just huddles up, and Moca joins them after pressing play.

Not long after, the movie’s gruesome intro sets things off as the girls are glued to the sofa, cuddled into one big ball.

“Wooooaaaaaah bro, your mom is totally smokin’… but, like, it looks like she’s about to smoke us, dude!” Swing. Chop.

Ran screams at the top of her lungs, her first of many for this long night.

The next day, Afterglow comes into CiRCLE. With music gear in tow, they walk past a collectively wide-eyed Roselia.

“M-Mitake-san? You have a b—"

“Don’t wanna talk about it,” says Ran, before her and her crew vanish into their studio room for practice.

“…I see. As a form of artistic commentary, they’re challenging gender narratives.” Yukina turns to face her band. “I like it. Perhaps Roselia could stand to push the envelope, as well.”

Finally, finally finally finally finally, FINALLY, coming back from uni means I HAVE MY LIMITED EDITION SACRED WORLD SINGLE!! Just in time to still be in Chiyu's birthday over here!

I was really annoyed I couldn't get it when it was delivered last month, but when I realised the first time I would see it would be on CHU²'s birthday, I freaked out. Stuff works out for a reason.

I don't even want open it, I don't know HOW I should open it, I'm such a mess right now... I'm just super happy on my favourite girl's birthday is when I got the single with my favourite song from my favourite band! It's been almost two years since I was first exposed to RAS and I'm just so happy. I'm happy. That's all that needs to be said. I love RAS.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHU2!!!!

This piece took me a really long time, and I’m super happy with how it turned out! Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve never really worked with different colors of lighting before, but I think I’ve got at least the basics down now! (And why is she eating jerky at a live concert? I don’t know. I decided I wanted her to be at a live concert after I lined the piece lmao.)

Now, a small message about CHU2:

When I first heard about RAS, I thought they were all weird- I thought their music and stage names and designs (except for PAREO) were weird. I eventually warmed up to them and didn’t mind their music too much, but I hated CHU2 because lots of people on here and Reddit kept saying she was an arrogant brat and she was a total jerk. I, having not seen the anime, agreed with them, because I didn’t know any better lol.

And then I watched Season 2 of the Bandori anime, and literally, as soon as she kicked over the trash can and picked up the trash again, I loved her. (That sounds like a very stupid reason for loving a character, but come on, what other anime character would pick up the trash and the trash can they knocked over? It showed that she had a temper but yet she was polite and professional at the same time. I loved it.)

And then I only loved her more as the season progressed. I looked forward to every scene with her in it, because she’s so entertaining to watch, with such a unique personality (and a cute voice lol). By Season 3, she was basically in my top three, and now she’s almost tying with Arisa. Actually, she might be tying with Arisa at this point. Stan CHU2
