I'm seeing a lot of reposted/uncredited art lately, and while it's great that fan work is being celebrated, it's also important to exercise proper online etiquette when sharing other fans' work.
When sharing fanart, remember to give the artist credit by linking their social media/art accounts (Twitter, Tumblr, Deviantart, Pixiv). If you aren't sure what the source of the image is or who created it, use Google's Reverse Image search or a website like SauceNAO to help you. If you still are having trouble locating the source, it may be better not to share the image.
Also, make sure the artist is comfortable with you reposting and sharing their work. Many artists have this information in their profiles, and if it is not available, you could ask them directly. Typically, most artists will be okay with it as long as they are properly credited, but in some cases, especially with many non-Western artists, they may not want their work to be reposted at all, and that's okay too! It's better to respect the wishes of a real person over art, don't you think?
I hope this doesn't come off as a "lecture" to something you're all well aware of; rather, I just wanted to remind others about this (as it's an issue that has negatively affected many fanartists who had their work reposted without their permission). The BanPa community is so kind and full of positivity, and I hope that we can continue to foster this kind, positive environment for a long, long time.
