hello and welcome back to random life updates with Nija (I swear I'll shut up someday)

I may or may not have made my intense frustration with linguistics known before but I recently had a breakthrough in syntax class; now today I was bored in class and just did some random complex sentences on my own and when I showed them to my prof afterwards, turns out they were entirely correct and he told me he thinks I'm gonna do fine in the exam in this rly proud & surprised voice (this is the third time I'm doing this class and the second time with him as the prof, he's one of the few who actually remember who I am so I'm like 70% sure he's personally invested in this lol) and like. getting praised for something you usually suck at is sO NICE and knowing you finally understood something difficult for good ...

I go on and on about how I'm dumb but I actually get rly easily frustrated when I get stuck something I'm supposed to excel at (like languages) and this was such a big roadblock for me ... blame my ~*\gifted kid*~\ upbringings for my perfectionism & inability to study which are constantly fighting in my brain (please if you are one of the younger folks here make sure you learn how to study properly even if you don't need it yet, trust me on this, otherwise it will heck you over in the future) aNYWAY what I wanna say is I CAME, SAW, AND GANBARUBY'D. is this the year I finally pass this godforsaken class??? WILL I FINALLY BE FREE

folks, let me teach you something ... know when to say no when people ask you for help. even if it sounds fun, even if you actually really feel like doing it, unless you know you have the time and patience for it be sceptical because it's going to be stressful

also ... if you're good at something ... never do it for free. about that song, I was on the way to uni tryna figure out how to do the harmonies when it suddenly hit me. why am I stressing over this. this isn't a commission. I don't owe anyone anything. but I already promised I'd do it PLEASE VALUE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT THIS HAS BEEN A PSA

I'm actually glad I did that illustration and I knew what I was getting into when I took up the offer, and it's getting paid at least, but Boy my head hurts from staring at SAI for too long now. at least I'm done with 2/3 of these things now and I've got the presentation scheduled through but sHEESH
