day fifteen: favorite origin story

as much as i love harohapi and the other bands, this would have to go the pasupare!!!

ok i know i skipped days 13 and 14 but thats because,,, i really cant yell about goya no machiawase and passionate anthem again

anyway although harohapi always holds a special place in my heart, i adore paspals origin story the most. imo it fit together really well and it just warms my heart when i think about it even more

they started off as a group of strangers not even knowing each other. aya was in her third (otherwise known as final) year of idol-in-training, desperate and hanging onto every thread she could grasp for just a chance at making her debut. pasupare was really the door to her dreams and she barely flew through. this was ayas life work, basically. then there was chisato, a childhood actress who held an excellent poker face and mask to emotions. friendship had never really registered for her, and her heart was left isolated because nobody valued her for chisato shirasagi, and people only saw her as the famous actress that appeared on tv. pastel palettes was not chisatos dream job per se, but it was a new gateway that she was willing to pursue albeit hesitantly. chisato wanted to find something that would really make her happy- and an idol band may welcome her to a new group of friends. theres eve, a model who did not truly belong to japan and hailed from finland. eve tried all she could to belong in her new country and immersed herself in japanese culture, striving to truly become japanese and thus her core was built: bushido, the way of a truthful warrior. pastel palettes was yet another path for eve, and she was ready to display herself as an idol for the rest of japan, and she dreamed of inspiring others in her new home. theres also hina, a part of a pair that was slowly separating and there was nothing she could do. hinas own twin sister started to drift away, becoming more hostile even, as she picked up new hobbies more and more until hinas sister settled on the guitar. with all her heart, hina wanted to make her sister proud, to be close with her sister again, so she picked up guitar and auditioned for really /anything/ so she could have another similarity with her sibling. pastel palettes was hinas chance to "prove" to her sister that she could be like her, and she was craving for another chance to make her sister see that hina was worthy of looking at. she was unaware of all the inferiority bubbling inside of her sister that hina almost destroyed their bond trying to impress her twin, and she just wanted another chance. finally theres maya, your everyday background character, as portrayed. she was nothing but a "support member", intended to be just a placeholder before the staff found a "real idol" to take her place. always criticized for her plain looks and 'nerdy' passion for technical equipment, maya has always been considered a backstage girl, but there she was in the spotlight, without her glasses, in a frilly idol costume. she considered herself a boring girl yet now she was surrounded by such supportive girls, one who even told maya that she was beautiful and was worthy of pasupare. pastel palettes was mayas first chance to show herself instead of being cooped away as the placeholder, and she was willing to let people see her, too. she was ready to become a part of pasupare, a soon-to-be popular idol band and wanted to show people what she could accomplish.

these five girls banded together through thick and thin, even when their 'secret' was discovered. aya and chisato stood in the pouring rain, despite their difference, to sell tickets and promote their now honest fame. together, they all did their best to learn their instruments so they could truly present themselves as pastel palettes. at each others sides, they realize being an idol was not as cutesy as they seemed, but they all persevered. because everything they worked for was for their dream, each of their individual goals. they could not throw it away. together, they all come to terms that they are idols in their own way, no matter how bumpy the road was or may be. pasupare's story is one of perseverance and friendship through technical difficulties and personal ones, and is really a deep story about accepting who they are and being proud of it, no matter how people reacted. they will always shine, once again, luminous.

Challenge Info

Most relatable character! I think for the most part, I talked about most of the characters I relate to most aka Tsugumi, Aya and Sayo. If you wanna see what I wrote, you can read them in my activities here:

However, I do relate a lot with a few other characters. They are Arisa, Kaoru, Maya, and Ako! I'll just list how I relate to them here:

Arisa- We've seen that Arisa tends to speak more politely to others she doesn't know well. I've seen some people think she does that to make herself look better or that she's two-faced. But that's...not it. Believe me when I say, I do the exact same thing. When I first meet people I'm not comfortable around, I speak much more politely and I'm a lot quieter. But the minute I'm around someone I know, I do a complete 180. Why? Because I'm afraid of showing my real self to someone I don't know and being rejected because of it. I think it's honestly the same for Arisa. Not that she necessarily has the fear of rejection, but we know she hasn't had much experience talking to others. So to some extent, she could be afraid of saying something wrong, or being looked at differently for being herself. But yeah, I really relate to her and I always feel sad when someone seems to hate her because of this aspect of her personality. It doesn't happen often though, thankfully.

Kaoru- Kinda like how Arisa speaks differently to others she doesn't know, I've heard Kaoru's personality is basically her way of hiding her more shy personality. And for me, this is a HUUUUUUUUGE relate! Like I said above, I behave much differently around people I'm not close to compared to my friends. It's strange really, but when I have to speak normally to people I don't know, I'm quiet. But when I have to present a project in front of people I don't know, I'm...a lot like Kaoru. Very dramatic. It's really weird, but that's just how I am.

Maya- Like Maya, I'm really awkward. I have no idea how to handle myself in social situations or how to start conversations with others. But man, when someone brings up anime or something I know, I just start fangirling and talking non-stop about it. Like this past semester, this kid in the class I worked with was reading PJO and I spent the whole 20 minutes of their break talking about the series with him and another kid It was fun though. That and I tend to not really care about my appearance much, so I never wear make-up or dress nicely, much to the chagrin of my mother. I also have a really peculiar laugh and have been told to shut up by a classmate once...it was a bit hurtful ;w;

Ako- I'm easily amazed by things, just like Ako is, and think so many things are cool or cute. I wanna be cool, although I don't know how to, so I've never really tried, unlike Ako. I tend to be really loud and cheerful around my friends like Ako, which I feel gets kinda annoying at times cuz I'm either always laughing or yelling or being extremely loud ><;

I have to admit. DESPITE me being a Roselia stan, Afterglow's story touched me the most. How everyone were taking care of each other, trying their best to stay as Itsumodori as possible when Tsugu being too tsugurific and fainting, then RAN'S ISSUE WITH HER FATHER!? AAAAH I can relate on this SO MUCH1!?!?!?!?!?!? I could ramble a lot on it. but I want to do 16th day as well.

The favourite Gacha of limited type is the

Springtime Sunrise Gacha

I mean. It's the true nature of Japan. I love Kokoro and eve in THIS one, and RINKO! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Such a pure and cute little NOODLE! that looks like a true priestess! I love EVERY LITTLE DETAIL ABOUT IT! the pullable cards. Eve making mochi. So much more!

(Not to forget that it happend in the same time that I was in japan. and served as a priestess myself. so that intensifies my feeling!)

Wow, it's been several days since I've been on fsdlkjgsdlkj And I haven't been doing the challenge, good job Storm! Anyway, favorite chibis! These are my favorite chibis of my fave girls from each band!

After seeing baby girl Eve and baby girl Tsugu my wig has been officially snatch. I’m now going to rearrange my life to prepare for this event on EN because bandori just killed the hell out of me. I was not expecting for my baby Eve to serve me face after seeing her Dreamfes card but she did. 😭

Ok in context of the current event (wedding) I AM SO MAD they had the absolute perfect opportunity to make Maya the 4 star pair they are literally!!! girlfriends!!! eve and maya are dating fr!!! they got my hopes up high and now I’m devastated. Kasumi’s card is still absolutely gorgeous!!! OH HOLY SHIT AND RAN??? IN A DRESS??? GOD BLESS THATS SOME GOOD ASS FOOD!!!! 💗💕💕💞💗💞🥺🥺

Tsugumi!

Tsugumi has been one of my faves since I first started playing the game and she's now my best girl! I love her so much! T_T She's so kind and caring and really gentle! I relate with her a lot in regards to her feeling normal and working hard to find something about her that makes her stand out. She really compares herself to others and because of that, she feels like she's not at the same level as everyone else, if that makes sense? It's a problem I deal with a lot myself, so when I see how hard Tsugumi is working, it makes me feel happy to see her trying so hard! I just wanna cheer her on more, you know?

I love how even though Tsugu feels really plain, she admires and respects her friends and other people's good traits! Not only that, but she is really observant and truly cares about those around her! I remember in the story where Afterglow went to see the sunset, Tomoe was initially awkward about inviting everyone to go and Tsugumi noticed this! She noticed and asked everyone for Tomoe and this was honestly my favorite moment with Tsugumi because you really see how observant and caring she is for the people around her.

Anyway, I had a lot of things I wanted to say about Tsugumi, but I feel like this would make the post much too long, so I'll stop here. These were kinda the main reasons for why I love Tsugu, even though I had a lot more examples and stuff ^^;
