Happy Birthday, Tsugu! raises invisible glass to another year of fun, friends, and growth, both as a person and as a keyboardist!

I've always looked up to Tsugumi as a role model of sorts, because just HOW can she juggle Student Council stuff, help out at her family's cafe, AND be an awesome keyboardist for a band? (all while being the kindest cinnamon bun the world has ever seen) that's tsugurific right there.

It might just be me, but I tried something along the lines of that and was nowhere near as successful (probably due to my horrible time management skills, though) Last school year, I decided to join the soccer team, play clarinet in concert band, somehow made it into ASB, all while struggling to get a 4.0 because of parental pressure n' all that good stuff.

There's a lot of life lessons I learned from Bandori, but one of the characters that has taught me the most is definitely Tsugumi.

my take on the whole birthday party issue: any band can play at your party if you want that. I mean, it's your birthday, of course you want your favourite. I voted HaroHapi cause their music makes me smile and what more can you want, but that's just what I like.

the issue is more that Roselia and PoPiPa are the Two Big Bands. only they have live shows, they get the most merch, the most music (tho PoPiPa still gets more). Roselia is easily the most popular band, as one has to be, I'm just a little worried that at this rate they'll win everything and leave the other three even more in the dust than they already are.

that's more so a problem with the franchise itself than the fanbase though. but I do understand why fans of other band feel pretty eeeh about this. when the expected / always the same character or group wins all the polls, it does wind up feeling pretty unfair. especially when your fave is dead last.

but that's just the nature of a popularity contest. it does always make me question if we should hold a lot of those in the first place, rather than just ... give one band the art. I think a better way to involve the community in decisions regarding art & merch would be to hold polls on what it should be like (like "where should [band] go for vacation? the beach, the mountains, or the big city?" stuff like that).

I mean, in the end it doesn't really matter what I think, I'm just ... not keen on the whole idea of popularity contests like this in the first place because it always leads to a lot of people feeling bitter. as we see right now. I don't think anyone's necessarily in the wrong (except people hating on Roselia or whatever, don't do that). meh. (´ｰ｀)

a few people, myself included, have said that Roselia songs (with the exception of Hidamari Rhodonite and Kiseki) kinda all sound the same, so I've been wondering what new things I'd like to hear from them that wouldn't break their aesthetic. here's a bunch of stuff I came up with, feel free to comment your own ideas too!

• a choral ballad. honestly how don't we have this yet? something super grand, maybe a bit like a hymn, that relies on harmonies rather than vocal power to be impactful. all five of them would sing to provide the necessary oomph. we do have ballads, but they're both pretty ordinary so something darker would be really cool
• A DUET please ... please let the others shine as singers too ... preferably a Yukisayo duet because I love Sayo's voice but like. just do whatever. I'm thinking something like Akatsuki Arrival perhaps?
• anything that lets Yukina sing with her head voice. please it's so beautiful, Kiseki criminally underused it, wHY WOULD YOU SHOUT A BALLAD LIKE THAT IT TOTALLY TAKES AWAY FROM IT—
• Six Trillion Years kinda does this but I'd like it in an original too; something that has really fast parts. Roselia's supposed to be the professional band, give them a challenge for once
• they already have a few short a capella parts but honestly? take it to the max. have an entire section be a capella before the instruments come in again. with nice harmonies too because duh. the a capella parts are always so good I'd love for them to expand on it
• Opera of the wasteland kiiinda did this but I'd like to hear something that doesn't fall into the ordinary. give us weird pitch & tempo shifts. just mix up the entire song genre like HaroHapi did with Sekai Nobbinobi Treasure. make a song that at first makes you go "wait what" and then "oooh this is neat" and then "Roselia reinvented music"
• I LOVE Rinko's keyboard solo in This Game just saying more of this please
• something more retro? they sound so good on Cruel Angel's Thesis, give em a lily white-like "almost a 90s anime opening" please
