Popipa
Favourite set: Ensemble of Cheers
I love this set! It's just so pretty and cute. It radiates Popipa and friendship energy, and I love that!
Least favourite set: Lucky Five Colors
There isn't anything particularly wrong with this set, it's just "meh".
Afterglow
Favourite set: Nostalgic Snow Globe
Do I really have to explain? This is just so pretty and seing child Afterglow is just amazing as well.
Least favourite set: Dreaming Sweet Princess
I just feel like this set kinda "missed" the Afterglow vibe... The worst one is definitely Tomoe. She normally has really energetic cards, but this one just seems so flat...

Favourite set: Hazy Samurai Heart
Bushido! This set is just really nice: the colours, the outfits, the background, everything is just amazing!
Least favourite set: Joining Lights: Road to Prism
It really hurts to say that, since it's band story, but this set is just so boring... It almost feels like the trained cards are untrained cards from backstage pass...

Favourite set: Crash x Time
All the cards from this set are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Even the 3* and the Rinko 2*.
Least favourite set: Fantasy World Beginning
I have absolutely nothing against Re:Zero. Here again, nothing particularly wrong with it, it's just "meh".
Hello Happy World
Favourite set: Rainbow Tone Night Decorations
I don't even know why, but this set is just so pretty to me. The colours are really nice, the outfits are pretty and the background too. The Hagumi 3* for that is.. wow.
Least favourite set: Se-c-ret! Lucky Charm
Here again, I do not hate on the collab or anything like that. I think it's a really good match for Hello Happy, but I feel like the art doesn't match. It's like they tried to do two different art styles in one card and it feels kinda off. For example, Kokoro's face is made with the traditional bandori art style while they changed the outside to match the franchise more.
I did not include RAS or Morfonica since they didn't have a lot of sets. Tell me what you think in the comments, I'm curious about if some of my favourites are your less favourite or if some of my least favourites are your favourites.

alright heya everyone it is 4:22am and I suddenly felt the intense need to do this so here's my favourite cards from 2020! I'm gonna limit it only to my absolute favs, but this is still gonna be a long post so strap in.
shoutouts also to the Saaya/Moca set, the baseball & DoReMi HaroHapi sets, and the gemstone (?? whatever it's called) Monika set, all of which I wanted to include but decided against it cause a) I couldn't decide on a fav card and b) this post is already long enough
PoPiPa toy set is incredibly underrated and I'll fight for this, I love all the trained and the untrained are also super beautiful! but this Kasumi is def my fav, and I have her hehe
the colours of this Hina are just. to die for. and I love the little touch of the heart in her eyes! this is a card I wanna eat. prob tastes like those sweets she's holding
this is probably my favourite 2* in the game??? the frame, the colours, the expression, the pose ... it's all perfect ...... also look at her bow hair
this card's atmosphere is so ghdkfhgjdgj BEAUTIFUL AND WARM ... I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT ... especially the subtle reflection of the city as the train passes by since we see her through the window ... gorgeous I adore this card
I love all the Monika initials, 3*s included, but trained 4* Mashiro is my favourite! I love the way the eyes are drawn in particular hh
the DreamFes cards (& the art in general) has been taking a more "official art" looking approach rather than "just another card" and nobody shows this better than this Tae I think. look at her. you could / should print this on a poster.
goth wedding Roselia is a thing that exists and I'm still not quite over. all of them are gorgeous. but Rin-Rin is the most gorgeous. sobs
man I love the untrained of this card as well as the Eve from this set so much, but in the end I have to go with this trained Saaya as my fav from the rain set ... everything about her is perfect. 2020 really did treat Saaya well.

Mermaid sets are a personal attack, this one is no exception, I'm still sad I didn't get Hina or Tae but my favourite is probably this Maya anyway ... she could pass as a 4*
this whole set is drop-dead gorgeous. it was between Yukina or Rinko for this one, but we've already had Rinko rep. so Yukina it is. something about the way the girls are drawn in this set, esp in terms of lighting, I just rly vibe with

I love this Mashiro so much I drew her. she didn't come home though. sighs
this Sayo stands in for the whole damn set because WOW if this isn't the most beautiful Christmas set I've ever seen. untrained as well. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I'm probably in the minority with this one, but I actually really like the washed out colour palette they've been going with on some cards lately. and this Tsugu makes perfect use of it hhhh Tomoe is beautiful too but Tsugu just speaks to me more aaaaa
and. that's it. I know a bunch of people weren't as happy with this year's cards, but I personally loved most of them! (and I have a bunch of thoughts on BS2 but I will keep them to myself for now cause they're irrelevant to this post gdkgh,,,) let's see what next year brings!!

i've been into hypmic for over a year now (i got into the franchise in late july 2019) and it's grown into one of my hyperfixations, so i figured i might as well just. make an entire post where i gush about my best boys + my favorite division; i was primarily inspired by everyone talking about their favorite d4dj girls so i thought, why not talk about my favorite characters from another idol franchise i happen to be really into?
ok, let's get started!
first up is saburo! sure, he can be a narcissistic little shit (i say that with love) but that's what makes him so entertaining! i highkey relate to his snarky personality and tendency to believe he's better than most adults (seriously, there's so many stupid adults out there -_-). also, he's so cute!
riou is soooooo gentle and sweet. you'd expect him to be quite intimidating and threatening at first glance (especially considering who his teammates are), but he's far from it! i honestly have a big crush on him, and if you ask me, his survival skills mean he'd make for a wonderful husband (minus the cooking...i dont want to eat rats and bugs). also, he's a himbo.
oh, ichiro, ichiro, ichiro....it's hard not to see why the fandom more or less unanimously loves him so much. he's a good big brother who unconditionally loves his bros, he's kind and supportive, he's helpful and reliable, he cooks, he cleans....ichiro, if you're reading this, i really wish you were my husband :(
samatoki wasn't initially one of my favorites but he warmed up to me as i grew more invested in the franchise and now he's one of the characters i draw the most. on one hand, he's a short-tempered, foul-mouthed gangster, but on the other hand, he's a big ol' softie who cares for his sister and respects women (no seriously! he once took down a shady massage business and rescued several uncomfortable women in skimpy outfits who were forced to work there. we stan!!)
and last but not least, my favorite division: the buster bros!!!
i just. LOVE their brotherly bonds and urban/street aesthetic. though the primary reason they're my favorite division is because i relate to all three of them in some way: weeb who gets excited talking about anime and hates those who pick on the weak (ichiro), occasionally brash and easily angered but has a strong sense of justice (jiro), snarky and dry at times (saburo). i really hope they win the second drb!!

everyone's talking about their favorite d4dj girls, so i figured i might as well talk about mine too!
i dont play gurumiku yet (im waiting for the global version; i'll consider playing when it comes out), but my absolute favorite girls so far are aoi and kyoko!! idk much about their characters but i just love the vibes they give off. they're both so cool!! especially aoi, im really big on masculine/androgynous girls so she's already won my heart...though kyoko is pretty awesome too! i like her voice a lot; aimi does a good job of utilizing a more mature voice compared to kasumi's higher + more energetic voice!
also my favorite units just so happen to be peaky p-key and rondo ahahahaha
also also: i am HIGHKEY considering making a hypmic-themed post where i just gush about my faves + the buster bros....mostly because seeing everyone gush about their favorite d4dj girls is inspiring me to infodump about one of my biggest hyperfixations dlskjlddfsll

I love Maho! She's kinda like Misaki, but is also pretty different. For example, she was Rinku's first friend and always encourages the unit to create new songs and take on wild opportunities. Also like- she's beautiful??!! Her voice is just MMM chef's kiss.
I also love Nagisa! I feel like she's really sweet but also a more rockstar, guitar riff genius ver of Ako! Plus, shes voiced by Sae-chin, so you gotta love her.

WELL i don't know as much about d4dj as everyone else here does but here we go anyway
my favourite character is haruna!!! it's hard for me to describe but i just really like everything about her..... serious & a little strict but perfectly balanced with an amount of kindness, and i love her audio fanatic trait so much ;u; also her design is so beautiful!! she was actually the first character i ever looked at on the wiki; even after reading about everyone else she stuck with me too much, and continues to do so the more i learn about the characters <3 i love her!!
