So I started watching Stars Align (Hoshiai no Sora) today, because of Roropii's recommendation (thank you so much for getting me to watch that), and I'm absolutely loving it so far. I'll edit this post as I finish each episode and say which parts I loved, so beware of potential spoilers.

Episode 1: The ending made me almost cry. From all the art that Avogado6 has made, I've become very familiar with the subject of child abuse, so when the scene at the end of this episode happened, that made me sad.

Episode 2: This episode made me seriously feel things. First off, with the start of the episode, there were students bullying a gay kid, whose name is Yuta, and that stabbed me right in the heart. Then, later int he episode, the protagonist, Maki, asked Yuta if he liked Touma (the second protaganist; male) and then said, "It's fine. Like whoever you want." That seriously made me want to cry of happiness SO bad and I was smiling SO much. Yuta is best boy now.

Episode 3: It seems like every episode has something extremely depressing happen. I thought at least 1 episode would give me a break from making me want to cry, but I guess I was wrong. This episode, we learned that Itsuki's mother poured boiling water on him when he was a baby, so that's depressing (I still got much sadder over episode 2, though. Probably because I relate to Yuta).

Episode 4: I was so sure I was gonna be able to say nothing bad happened this episode, but I was wrong. Right at the end, there was another scene of Maki's father being abusive. This time there was no hitting though, he just broke Maki's tennis racket. Still really sad, though.

Edit: I'm gonna put the questionable tag on this now, just because of how sensitive these topics can be.

Episode 5: Yuta is being cute again, as always. I love the part of the ED so much, where Yuta is dancing all energetically while Kanako is just drawing in her notebook. It's so adorable. But anyway, Maki and Touma were being cute also in this episode. Touma helped Maki stand up for himself to his father, and then Maki and Touma hugged at the end of the scene. That was so cute (I still will always ship Yuta and Touma though, because Yuta has said that he likes Touma, and I want the best for him. Wow, I act like these characters are real. I just relate to Yuta so much and I love it).

Episode 6: Okay, finally a break. This episode was just them playing tennis.

Episode 7: Another break. This episode was just cute.

Yuta was obviously the cutest, though.

Episode 8: So Yuta's non-binary now. I can't really relate to them as much now, though, since I'm very comfortable as a male. I do think it's a little stereotypical to make a gay character trans or NB. I am happy to see that an anime is representing groups like that, but I can't deny that I wanted a male gay character to fully relate to. I guess I can still relate to the Yuta at the beginning, before we knew that he was indecisive about gender.

Edit: Oh no, I got to the end of the episode. Now I feel bad for saying I wanted a male gay character to relate to, because Yuta's mother just started yelling at them saying that they have to stay a boy.

Episode 9: Chottttttto matte, I just started the next episode, and there just getting straight into the sad. Nao's mother told him to use his right hand to eat and then started saying that he shouldn't be hanging around with the tennis club. Tbh, this didn't make me that sad. I just got surprised when she told him to use his right hand.

Edit: I finished that episode. That was sad. Tsubasa's father pushed him down the stairs and he broke his wrist, so now he can't play tennis for two months. Is every family in this anime abusive or something?

Episode 10: Just another normal episode. I feel like I'm losing interest in Yuta's character, which I feel really bad for, and knowing my anxiety, that guilt is gonna stay with me for a while. I really want Yuta to stay my favorite character, even if I can't relate to them as much anymore, because they're adorable.

Episode 11: Okay, I love Yuta again. Nothing really happened with them this episode, but I realized that I can still relate to a character even if I don't relate to them completely. Also, I've had a friend that's had to deal with parents not supporting their transition, so I'm able to understand Yuta's situation better. Also, I'm now actually interested in the tennis aspect of the show, which is extremely weird because I hate tennis.

Episode 12: Cho cho cho chottto chotto ma cho-chotto matte. Maki's about to commit a murder. WHAT KIND OF SPORTS ANIME IS THIS??!?!?! That's the last episode, too. I know it's because they were forced to cut it off early, but that was way too much of a cliffhanger. I really hope we get a second season.

So, Imma just complain a little about the amount of wholesome shounen-ai (boys love) and shoujo-ai (girls love) series because the ratio of wholesome to not wholesome makes me kinda mad.

First off, shounen-ai. There's basically no wholesome series in this genre (at least of what I've seen) and it REALLY annoys me. Why can't they just let me watch a series about a gay relationship without it getting extremely perverted in the first episode. The only series I've seen that's wholesome is Given and that will always have a special place in my heart because it was both INSANELY WHOLESOME and realistic. Seriously, I highly recommend that series to anyone, not just the people into shounen-ai. That series actually made me cry. Not because it was sad (I mean, there is kinda a sad part), but just because of how wholesome it was.

Now onto shoujo-ai. This has a much better wholesome to not wholesome. The most wholesome that I've seen is the Kase-san series (I really need to finish that manga). I'm currently watching Bloom Into You and it definitely is wholesome, but it doesn't really feel like a realistic development of a relationship. There are still tons of perverted shoujo-ai series and that annoys me (not as much as the shounen-ai genre's situation, but it still annoys me).

There are SOOO many wholesome straight romance series, so I really don't see the point in making almost every shoujo-ai and shounen-ai perverted.

Okay I'm done. I just had to say that because it really does annoy me. It had nothing to do with BanG Dream!, but I have nowhere else to post it (except maybe twitter, but not many people would see that).

Edit: Okay, sorry for editing this, but I need to talk about given more (POTENTIAL SPOILERS). THAT SHOW WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! It actually showed the struggles the characters faced, specifically the part about Ritsuka trying to deny that he's gay, asking if something is wrong with him, and then Akihiko telling him he's fine and nothing is wrong with him. AHHH AND THEN THE CONFESSION SCENE! Mafuyu told Ritsuka he liked him and then Ritsuka asked if he meant that in a romantic way, and when Mafuyu said yes, Ritsuka started internally freaking out. AND THE KISS SCENE AAHHHHH!!! That was the part that made me cry. Okay bye gotta go listen to Marutsuke now.

Time to jump into the bandwagon!!! ———————————————————————- Best Girl/ Best Boy: I know that Chihiro’s a dude but I needed to include both Mondo and Chihiro on here it’s my calling,, Chihiro’s so so cute and I love their development through chapter 2, and I also rlly like their relationship with Mondo, I know everyone calls them toxic but their interactions through the games, anime, and mangas rlly warms my heart, they’re so sweet, same goes with Mondo he has the tough and serious persona but he’s honestly so cute 🥺🥺

Guilty Pleasure Character: Aniki from Death March Club, I know it’s weird liking a character from a game that hasn’t come out yet, but I ADORE his design it’s rlly pretty, and judging from his bio he’s going to be pretty similar to Piers who I absolutely adore, why is he a guilty pleasure character though??? You have to remember that everyone in Death March Club is 12, so I feel rlly weird liking him, even though I don’t rlly like him romantically.

Character with the best voice talent: Ran and Felix!!! Their voices are so pretty I could listen to them sing all day.

Character everyone likes but you don’t: PLEASE don’t take this personally, but for the most part I just really hate their personality and I think they’re pretty annoying, except for Yukina, I can see how she’s interesting but I don’t rlly like her personality, but the one character that I stand by hating with ALL of my might, is KLARA, I cannot stand her she’s super irritating and annoying and besides that, unlike Avery, she has no REAL motive to be mean to you, Avery’s league card states that he was thought of as a failure in his family, and only tried to drive you away from the dojo since he felt loved there and didn’t want to be forgotten (he also apologized to you and promises to work on himself which I think is super sweet) and besides all the motive that Avery has, you know why Klara is so mean? SHE WANTS CLOUT, she even chose poison type just because there wasn’t much competition, she had potential to be a good character but her motives were rlly weak and doesn’t help her AT ALL.

Character everyone hates but you don’t: DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SAYAKA. She’s so sweet and nice but due to the motive video it made her grow mentally unstable, and that’s why she did what she needed to do, even if it wasn’t a success. She is by all means NOT A SNAKE, her friends are the most important thing to her, and she felt that she needed to do what she did. She did not come into Hopes Peak a manipulator, due to the things she was put through, she became one. Thankfully the hate on Avery is starting to die down, but it’s ASTRONOMICALLY stupid that people have him because of his design, he’s such a STRONG character and his development is very nice, but people don’t like his design, and honestly I think his design is super pretty, it fits the weird and psychedelic character that both Avery and psychic type as a whole have. Hagumi isn’t a rip off of Rin, she’s her entirely different character, she’s super sweet and kind, I love Hagumi with all my heart.

Sexiest female design: Kaoru and Masuki, they need me explanation, they’re gorgeous and I love them

Sexiest male design: I have SUCH a thing for pretty boys with long hair, I love them I could keep going forever, I love them so much, they’re so cute and pretty and I will devote my entire life to them. Specially Piers, Avery, Miyuki, Pinga, and Luca. All in all, boys with long hair >>>>>>>

Character you wish you could cuddle: EVE, FELIX, KANON, AND AVERY!!! THEY ARE SO CUTE AND SOFT, I desire that a lot. (And Avery deserves one ❤️)

Great character, crappy fanbase: As a Luca main, I’m very disappointed with how people portray Luca, specially when they reduce his whole character as a rat, like,, it doesn’t make any sense, he’s very canonically nice and friendly to everyone with no evil intent, and the way he got the title of the “Prisoner” is due to him accidentally killing somebody, and it wasn’t his intent, he tried to block the shock he gave the person he killed which resulted in his black eye, and honestly explaining why he isn’t a rat would take a long time, it’s faster if you watch his character backstory. And also HONEY. LUCA. I can understand why everyone is so thirsty for Luca, like he’s definitely very cute, but the extent this fandom will go to lewd Luca is very, very, surprising.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AKO!!!

A lot of people dislike Argonavis :(( ... Like I get they came after bandori, and its kinda weird to see AAside being "from BanG Dream", but everyone should at least give them a chance. Also, during the Garupa Audience-less Firework Live in the eng bandori youtube channel, I asked a couple of the other early birds their opinion of AAside, and sadly the responses were not too good... I'm not saying names, but someone said AAside was a like a nightmare: a cringe worthy knock off-ish version of bandori centered towards girls. Kinda sad, really. At least watch the first 3 eps of the anime, and you might start to like it! I know it moves a little fast, seeing as in bandori, Popipa, the main band, finished forming around ep 8, while Argonavis finished forming around ep 3. Still, the episodes are pretty different from bandori, which is pretty refreshing and cool to watch. Plus, the bands are so unique! Unlike bandori, where each band features middle-high school girls, AAside features band men of all ages. Anyways, sorry if my rambling was annoying :3... I just wanted to say my opinion and explain something.
