hey beans!! to make a long story short, i'm gonna be posting bad fanfiction bc this college semester has made me sick and tired of writing as an english major. i want to take my love of writing back by writing intentionally awful flash fiction that's fun bc i put effort into making it bad, you know??
pls enjoy this random terrible story, basically kanon has been working out a ton and obtained some major muscles alongside major pent-up anger
Kanon comes rolling into her session room at CiRCLE, out of breath and flushed as can be. “I’m so sorry, everyone! I had no idea I’d be so late, please don’t be mad…”
The entire room—consisting of the remaining Hello, Happy World! Members—gives a collective stare. Misaki goes to open her mouth, but the words are stuck like a fly who is stuck. Kaoru drops her guitar and it screeches upon hitting the polished wooden floor. Her jaw hits the ground soon after.
“Wow!” Kokoro breaks the silence and does a cartwheel across the room. “You look like the security men that my dad used to hire, Kanon!” But everyone tells Kokoro to shut up, and so Kokoro sits in the corner and cries. Hagumi walks over and punches Kokoro and takes her wallet. “Not again Hagumi…” Hagumi laughs and punches Kokoro’s tears away.
“Kanon, you… I’m not sure I can believe it. Truly, do my eyes deceive me? Ah, your appearance has become like that of the butterfly who realizes he cannot flutter beneath the ocean’s current—that is to say, fle—”
“Please, Kaoru, and everyone else too. I don’t really look that different. I-I mean, yeah, I’ve been working out a little bit, but I still look the same, right?”
Misaki scoffs, eyes bugging and all. “Are you kidding me, Kanon? You like a linebacker who had steroids for breakfast and ate my grandpa for lunch—”
“I said,” Kanon starts, her voice dropping three octaves, “I still look the same.” Kanon clutches the drumsticks in her fists. They start to splinter and break in half. “Now close your mouth, because it’s looking my whole fist is about to fall in there.”
A gentle ‘fuee’ washes over the room.
Misaki decides she might see a therapist later, but for now walks over to her DJ set. Kanon comes stomping past everyone and stops to punch Kokoro, taking her spare wallet. Misaki and Kaoru also come over to punch Kokoro, taking her backup wallets. Everyone goes to their respective instruments to begin practice.
“Ready, everyone? Let’s… smile!”
But really, who's smiling right now?
