The moment I saw baby Hikawas I dropped everything to write uh. This thing. Idk

Her hair looked like Hina’s.

Sayo slammed the photo frame face down before she could think. Wood cracked against wood like the strike of a cane. She flinched, eyes wide, just like in the photo, except there was no regret in the eyes of her younger self.

Quickly she lifted the frame to check for damage (not to look at the picture again, just to check). There was none.

Her eyes slid over the smooth glass. (Not to look at the picture—there might be a telltale crack she’d missed. Though she could easily blame such an accident on Hina if she wanted. It had been Hina who’d so carelessly left the photo here, she was sure.)

Two little girls, identical but for the parting of their hair and a slight downward turn in the eyes of one. And in that slight difference was everything.

Matching earmuffs, matching gloves. Matching smiles, one bigger than the other. Matching capes, one brighter.

Even though Sayo had picked hers out first.

Inconsequential, you would think, being just a little duller, slower, less remarkable. Always almost, never there, a shadow of greatness.

By the time they were in primary school Sayo’s hair hung past her shoulders. She started braiding it to keep it out of her face on windy days. Braiding was methodical work, and Sayo did it with skill and care and pride.

Then Hina tried it. Fat, messy braids that sprang up with life. Smaller ones, and smaller, and still smaller, her face lit with delight as if the challenge didn’t faze her at all, until there were colourful ribbons all over her head and the adults marvelled at the dexterity of her tiny chubby fingers.

The years sharpened their differences. Sayo grew taller and her hair grew to her waist. She’d stopped braiding it long ago. Hina kept her braids, just two little ones behind her ears, keeping each other company, as identical as she could make them.

“Ah, Onee-chan! I found that the other day! Why did you put it away?”

She’d been lost in her thoughts for too long. “It’s none of your concern! Leave me alone.”

That Christmas she forgot. The next Christmas she remembers.

“Onee-chan, what’s that you’ve got there?”

Sayo jumps, bells jangling and tinsel rustling as she knocks into PVC branches. “Nothing.”

Hina breezily plucks the wooden frame from the pile of decorations, turning it over with interest. “Ohh!”

“H-Hina!”

“It’s this picture of us! My favourite one! Look at you, all fluffy and bouncy …”

Hina beams fondly at their fluffy, bouncy younger counterparts and Sayo sighs.

“I was planning to put it on the shelf here, but I suppose that’s not happening now.”

“Eh? Nooo, Onee-chaaan!! It’s happening, it’s totally happening!”

“Then I’ll have it back, please.”

Hina hands it to her with a meek smile. Sayo returns the smile, and when wood touches wood this time it’s with the quiet clunk of a piece falling into place.

allllllllrighty, here's that news roundup from beyond the grave. if I forgot anything, it's because my brain isn't working. because I'm dead. yes. that is why.

so they just casually shadowdropped a GYROAXIA digital single to go with the SOL, featuring EGOIST and GETTING HIGH as well as the voice drama. because of course they did. yknow, I recently thought to myself, "they didn't announce a single, but maybe they'll just drop it the day of", and then didn't say anything cause it felt like wishful thinking, and now I wish I'd said something because I PREDICTED THIS

Argonavis's S-SOL is in fact a Christmas live (I WAS RLY HOPING IT WOULD BE), and it will be held on 12/26, which is a Saturday! there's a video with quotes again but I'm too lazy to write them out (it's mostly fluff dialogue), but I WILL say there's a "woof" in that. Pon-chan ......... Pon-chan bby ...................

AAside (the game, not the song) is confirmed for January release uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,,, the app stores currently say 1/31 but idk I wouldn't count on it, that sounds like a placeholder. only the month is confirmed as of right now.

I have no image for this one so look at pets. all of them revealed now. bbies

AAside (the song, not the game) is going to be released on 2/3! it comes with the main Argonavis version, the Argo/Gyro version from CROSSING (HECK YEA), a new as of yet unrevealed song, and a BluRay of the AAside performance with all the vocalists from LR Fes! the lim bonus is a BluRay with every S-SOL!

look at them. that is all. (these are for the NaviHajime New Year's event)

and a bunch of smaller stuff like the menu for the argnv collab café (I don't trust the epsiphi stuff to not be poisoned), GYROAXIA puppets like the Argonavis ones are now a thing and are very cute, anime rerun, and the fact that Gyro just casually broke the definition of "Sound Only Live" to pieces by not only accompanying a lot of it with MVs from the game, but ALSO re-recording a bunch of instrument parts as live recordings rather than with a studio band ... to the point where MANIFESTO was just flat out a live recording all together, including vocals (not sure if IGNITION or LR Fes cause I didn't see the former hpmh and curse you geoblock, but that final chorus sounded very familiar so I waaaaanna say LR Fes). they just. just kinda did that. I can imagine Argonavis will be similar. or maybe Gyro just wanted to flex idk

okay that's it I'll now go back to being dead and crying over Gyro and bby Hikawas. thank you.
