guess what time it is?? that's right it's time for me to cry about Ren's writing again
so in this event story (a very simple and sweet one), one thing that really stood out to me was Ren saying that he did have fun before meeting Argonavis. he was fine doing stuff on his own, and not in the way where he was telling himself that he was but really wasn't - he's the kind of person who's perfectly capable of spending time alone and making the most of it
but now that he's with Argonavis, with friends who love and understand him and share his passions, he's having even more fun. it's not that he was miserable before, it's that there was a whole world he wasn't exposed to that he could thrive in even more so than by doing things himself without people holding him back (points aggressively at his choir backstory).
and that just?? rly means a lot to me??? usually when you have these lonely kind of characters they're rly sad or are trying to downplay it and tell themselves they're okay, but their loneliness drags them down very much to where they're not okay in the slightest, and that is FINE that is VALID I love lonely and suffering characters very much!! but as someone who personally has no problem being alone and even enjoys it quite a bit, I've once again realised lately (thanks to certain people I've been talking to, you know who you are probably maybe) that even though I'm not unhappy being alone, I can be even happier when I get to be with people I love at my own pace
so write this down on the list of things about Ren that hit very close to home. as if that list wasn't long enough yet. what a wonderful character whom I love very much
