Review: Poppin' Party band story 1

Warning: Long read ahead

I really enjoyed it! A story about popipa trying to save a festival is very in character for them but it never felt like a thrown-together plot. The part where Tae and Kasumi were visibly angry after speaking with the community chief was incredibly well done. Seeing O-Tae angry felt refreshing since she's supposed to be a bit of an airhead and very cheerful. Rimi practically begging on her knees was also pretty powerful speaking of character development. It made me love her even more.

So after the workers at the community centre tells them they get a chance at saving the festival we arrive at the sleepover/songwriting camp! The pillow fight was such a cute add on and Arisa joining in just to beat Kasumi's ass was very funny to read. You really feel the connection between the girls when scenes like these pop up in my opinion.

And last but not least, the festival. It was a bit of an anticlimax because we all knew the story would have a happy ending but I still got angry when the community chief told them they weren't allowed to play. They, of course, were able to play in the end and it made me really happy to know that Happy happy party was about the festival they were attending! It all ends with the festival being saved and Kasumi getting her cherished star-candy.

So to sum it up, I really enjoyed this story. Tae getting a bit more depth definitively made me appreciate her more since I've kind of pushed her aside (I'm so sorry O-Tae I love you!). Rimi just gave me more reasons to why she's my best girl and Arisa is a strong contender for second-best popipa girl. The final rating of this story: 7/10
