The preview for the Project SEKAI cover of "Sekai wa Mada Hajimatte sura inai" was released. This was one of my favorite of the commissioned songs, so I'm glad the cover turned out really well.

Okay, so I wasn’t planning on doing anything ‘special’ for Tsukushi’s birthday, just one of my usual character-with-white-background-and-no-lighting-or-any-special-effects drawings, but then I got this idea to draw her in the water with her Deep Sea Girl costume . . . And it’s going to hopefully be really cool and like nothing I’ve ever drawn before, since I’m going to have to use lighting, and it’s going to be a real challenge, but I’m going to do it because once my mind gets set on something I can’t go back lol (and yes this means it’s going to be late, sorry Tsuku ;-;)

(Also, you may be wondering why I’m putting so much effort into a drawing for a character’s birthday when she’s not even one of my top favorites, but like I said, my mind won’t go back now. And I’m definitely going to do something like this for Arisa’s birthday . . . I’ve already been planning . . .)

Well today was okay until now and now its night time and now my form tutor probably thinks im stupid for not responding to her I just hate this so much two days in a row of just something going wrong regarding college how much more can i screw this up

the naming process for this fan band is complete! they're called NEP2NE, pronounced and optionally stylized as NEPCHUNE! just for fun i guess i'll put the member's names here too... we have hanami imamura on vocals, key, and synth, kiyoko hirano on guitar, juri akamine on bass, masae sasaki on drum machine, and finally, rena otsuka as our lovely DJ! i'm excited for the moment i can finally properly introduce them to everyone, but for now, just take a look at the band logo...

life update / ramblings post! there's nothing important in here I just feel like talking sorry

there were local elections in our whole state last Sunday, and I volunteered to help out with that for the first time! I was super anxious at first cause I get easily overwhelmed by complicated things but the actual thing wasn't difficult at all ... instead, despite being tired as heck, I had loads of fun!! my team was great. one of them was my childhood friend, another was another childhood friend's dad. which is good cause I'm very bad at dealing with people I don't know, but those two are very cool people. my childhood friend was wearing a fancy suit, but he evoked no sense of authority for me because I know for a fact he'd lose to me in a Pokémon battle ... anyway. a bunch of funny situations / quotes from that day include

• "I've been doing this for ten years now. every time something went wrong. if something goes wrong today too, I might have to admit it's my fault"
• "[claps hands] alright guys, we're doing something wrong. the other groups are all done counting already, we need to optimise our process!!" - we realise a few minutes later that we had more than double the voters. of course we'd take longer
• "please put the yellow ... the paper. I mean, the paper in the ... the yellow paper in the. the thing. the ... uhm," (- "take your time")
• (looking at our ridiculously long queue of voters) "why are the other lines so much shorter?" - "they all came to vote cause they wanna see us. once we change shifts, nobody's gonna come anymore. no point if we're not there"
• "can someone hang up signs for the potentially confused?" - "sorry I'm one of the potentially confused"
• "why are they all coming to you first? they need to come to ME. stop smiling, you look too approachable. start frowning at them when they come in"
• (when we need to call the city but can't get through, no matter how many times we try) "well, I'm not used to competency from this city anyway." - followed by understanding and slightly miserable laughter from everyone else

I kinda wanna draw some of these as BanDori or argnv characters, pff. there'll be a run-off vote in two weeks and I'm actually really looking forward to that one now! the actual work was pretty boring, but the time passes quickly with the right people. I'm still very fuwa fuwa about it haha

in other news, my parents fulfilled a lifelong dream of theirs and bought a camper! in fact, I'm typing this post from the car as we go get it from its previous owners. they live really close to my university, coincidentally. not that it matters much, my uni has pretty much given up on online classes and not much is happening ...

also, I applied for a part-time job at a small jewelry store and unfortunately didn't get it, but they were SO NICE ABOUT IT. everyone in that store is always so genuinely friendly it makes me wanna work there even more ... people intimidate me, but I think I'd have fit right in there ... sighs ...

aaand lastly, Bushimo posted the live report for IGNITION! and because I'm both a Gyro oshi and a masochist, I'll definitely translate the whole thing. I'm hoping to get it done tonight, but no promises, it's a long one. for myself and the fellow folks who couldn't watch the live, it's the most detailed thing we have, so I've gotta! already did my fair share of crying about Ren saying he wants to stand on the same stage as Nayuta and Nayuta replying with the LR Fes being just a stepping stone ... and saying he's gonna steal the world away from "that man" (his father) ... Nayuta-kun ......

and yeah that's about it! sorry for the long & ultimately useless post, but sometimes it's easier to write things out like this than use Twitter, and I feel most comfortable in this community. (sorry ... my constant bothering you comes from my love ... that doesn't really make it any less annoying, huh ... one day I'll shut up. but. not today.)

Random talk.

It's such a cool feeling when you find out you can recall a song's lyrics, at least when they are playing. Then I found out that if I do remember the lyrics at the time, I'd follow along. not humming like I'd do without lyrics, but singing. If you call me singing 'singing'. Before, if say a friend suggest going karaoke, I'd be "Nah, I don't wanna." but now? Yeah, I'd go. Even if I don't want people to hear how horrible I am, the point is to have fun and I have fun singing now, so why not?

The two big culprits are Leia and KiLLiNG ME, both covered by Rondo so... thanks Rondo. It wasn't hard to remember the lyrics of the song all in English though. Whenever I play them, the lyrics come to mind and I just can't help but sing. Even if I suck at singing and my vocal range being non-existent, I mean I'm pretty sure my normal voice is right at the peak of my pitch, and I think my normal voice is pretty low? Maybe I just can't associate my voice with singing, and I don't blame myself. It's only recently, July-Aug maybe, that I started singing along. Also, Rondo's (full) cover of KiLLiNG ME is on YouTube, so if you want, you can go listen to it.

I gotta say this now, Rondo's originals may not in general be my #1 favourite for D4DJ, but their covers are so, so, so amazing. D4DJ covers are all amazing. I just realised I said that last random talk. If I can talk about D4DJ, I will, not stopping.

Shu Ujigawa is a rat and my ultimate comfort character. Seeing him makes me really happy and he brings light to my life. Whenever I'm upset, listening to him sing makes me feel so much better. I've been attached to characters before, but never quite like this.
