At last. Though it has cost me tooth and nail today, I have finally once more come upon this, life's greatest respite--my bedroom. All the miserable day I've been hounded by--by those... knaves.

Those idiotic clowns by whom I am bound to perform alongside in Hello, Happy World!. Those cretins--their most impressive spiel being the sound of drool loosed from their gaping mouths.

I wouldn't know where to start with those four any more than if I had a shovel and a treasure map for an imaginary island. I should like to rid myself of these monsters one day; they know nothing of my philosophy.

They know nothing of the Happiness Way; the manner in which the neck of sadness can be seized, crushed, beaten, obliterated, 'til all that remains is smiles which can never un-smile, and should any soul rediscover sadness they shall be tortured until they' --

Kaoru opens Kokoro's bedroom door and pokes her head in. "Ah, Kokoro. 'Tis such a beautiful day, is it not? Yet you have hidden yourself away, an oyster too shy to share her greatest pearl. How shall we make the world smile in such a condition?"

Kokoro beams at her friend, closes her diary, and springs off of her bed. "What a great way of putting it, Kaoru! There's too many faces in need of happiness for us to waste time here. I was just thinking of a new song to tell Misaki about, so let's go find her!"
