Justice for GuriGuri yas! Mimorin's voice is to die for I can't wait for the full songs

Also while I'm on the topic of songs Zettai Sengen ~Recital~ is such a bop?? Those spooky falling thirds and the acapella-ish, kinda classical-sounding style and the fast keyboard runs I love it. You go PasuPare

Okay but Himari could've just . . . borrowed one of the others' textbooks instead of barging into the haunted school after dark but I guess Afterglow simply have a collective desire to become delinquents

I always thought it was kinda weird that game Rinko doesn't wear tights under her school uniform considering how much she covers up both on stage and in casual clothes so I gotta say I felt vindicated when I saw this image

And of course I had to do a tiny edit you can barely see but let me have my satisfaction

Ok while I'm at it might as well do this too it's what she deserves

In a final bid for Christmas Arisa, I made a wishlist post and then went on a card story splurge last night, got to 2000 stars, went to bed and waited for the 500 from the event rewards. But that wasn't enough and I knew it bc it is a truth universally acknowledged that festive disaster tsuns don't come home unless you put on a Santa hat, play Christmas no Uta on a screechy yellow recorder from Aldi, open the stubborn mule of a card on BanPa and add it to your account, have someone who loves the disaster tsun just as much as you wish you luck (thank you so much Arisa_ichigaya), and then finally, sing the disaster tsun's chorus in Christmas no Uta and press the fateful button exactly as you get to the line that translates to 'You were able to transform my world' (I'm sorry this is super cheesy but hhh)

SADLKSDFJ I'M CRYING I WAS EXPECTING ANOTHER DUPE I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED AND ON THE LAST CARD TOO

Believe in the magic of Christmas guys I hope your best girls and dream cards bless you all too

Right it is time to report on the results of the masterpiece of a culinary survey

First off

  • Regarding the pineapple on pizza debate, 'no' beat 'yes' but it was actually pretty close. One person was so horrified that they felt the necessity to append 88 exclamation marks to their no, another said 'the Lord rebuke u'—if this Lord you are referring to is Gordon Ramsay then I accept the rebuke (for the record, I don't particularly like pineapple on pizza but neither do I consider it an abomination so in a way I am guilty)
  • There was a three-way tie among people identifying as 'fresh,' 'microwaved' and 'raw,' followed by 'frozen.' To the person who said 'Eaten 500 centuries ago,' I pay my respects. Update: 'individually packaged' kinda scares me . . . how many of you are there and are you still multiplying
  • Over half of you are confused ravioli that is so cute ahh. Runner-up was people setting themselves on fire at 33.3% and honestly I relate to both of these
  • Some of you who thought Gordon would enjoy Michelle Monakas didn't say the same for choco cornets and I am assuming you picked the first option for the former question solely for my amazing pun
  • Garupa Pico MasterChef edition, no surprises there. A third of you thought Lisa's cookies would save the set from destruction though and that is heartening
  • I like how absolutely no one thinks Gordon Ramsay would win a shouting match against the Bandori girls. Chisato, Tomoe and Arisa took the prizes in that order. The response about Ran trying to shout but singing high notes instead killed me thank you

The Kitchen Nightmares stories were very entertaining, props to all of you. Some quotes for your amusement:

  • Gordon yelling "THIS ISN'T A PLACE FOR FRIENDS!!" at Hagu
  • '"wait you mean you're not the talent scout for Chopped?" and there's kind of this awkward silence while Gordon turns to look into the camera'
  • 'Ran accidentally drops a chocolate cake on Gordon. He yeets her into the sun.'
  • 'kaoru gets destroyed by trying to put a maruchan instant lunch into a microwave'
  • 'the beautiful man gallantly strolls into ran's restaurant, which is tellingly called "runny ran's". runny is referring to runny diarrhea. naturally gordon is immediately afflicted with diarrhea as he feels what remnants remain of his soul falling out through his butt cheeks.'

I loved reading about your wholesome experiences—friends, romance, weddings, animals, money, memes—all of them warmed my heart. The people who said they liked the survey or that taking the survey was their wholesome experience are too sweet, thankies. Zyra yours was the cutest thing and I am super awkward with physical contact too so I relate and I'm so glad you found a kindred spirit. And Amarena, I'm really happy for you! I'm a disgrace who never got into Hamilton but I did have a chance to see Lea Salonga sing 'Burn' live and loved it

Now lastly . . .

  • To a certain fluffy alpaca, I'm sorry to say it's futile to attempt to evade Gordon Ramsay's grasp. He's probably onto you at this very moment but if it's any consolation I also cannot cook to save my life and we can perish together. It pleased me that you insinuated I might be Gordon Ramsay though, that's the highest compliment anyone can possibly receive
  • To a certain itsumodoori flamboyant peacock who first claimed to be Gordon Ramsay, then spelt Gordon's name wrong, then turned around and claimed to be me instead, do you happen to be having an identity crisis because if so that is quite concerning and I advise you to seek help. For your information I do not have a 'crush' on Gordon Ramsay and I feel rather insulted by that accusation. Does one simply have a crush on God? Absolutely not. This is a devotion that runs much deeper, a spiritual path I have sworn never to stray from for the entirety of my fleeting existence. Please learn some respect and refrain from making such childish, profane comments (I love you lmao)

And that will be all, thank you all for your time. BanPa is amazing I'm so glad to be here

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and the last EN event was a good chance to talk about it but I was too lazy to type it out so have this now

I’ve always appreciated Bandori’s writing. But not only in stories. I love how the song lyrics of each band are tailored to their respective outlooks and methods of writing like the event showed us. We can see it in the actual lyrics themselves and it’s not just a throwaway detail never to be mentioned again. Honestly thinking about that made me appreciate the lyricists more, especially Kasumi.

Kasumi tells Lisa that she looks for the kira kira doki doki in everyday things which is true, but that’s just her Kasurific way of expressing something that isn’t quite as simple as she says it is. I think that description can be applied to her lyrics too. Kasumi isn’t shallow or emotionally immature. In fact she feels really strongly and is in tune with those feelings—she’s just more about living in the moment and experiencing rather than reflecting on or analysing her emotions. So you get stuff like sensory descriptions of the festival in Natsunodon! which seem like fun and games until you look at the gut punch that is Light Delight, a raw unfiltered barrage of ouch and anything but superficial.

Ran is kinda similar but is naturally a more introspective person, so even when she experiments and writes down whatever comes into her head without ‘dressing up the words,’ her lyrics come across as a little more cerebral, while still being driven by emotion. Rebellious Ran is so good in That is How I Roll please appreciate her

Now let’s talk about the girl who does dress up her words. Heckin Yukina. Ran was lowkey roasting her when she was explaining her own methods to Lisa and I can't resist either because it's kinda funny to me (I promise I love her). Yukina was acting all smug in her card story, saying Lisa’s lyrics didn’t meet Roselia’s standards, but what are those standards exactly? Yukina may be a great singer but she is a drama queen and any song that doesn’t wax poetic every second line is not befitting of Roselia in her eyes. This is the girl who writes things like ‘In the depths of this dried up sea is a slumbering voice/Beneath your eyes, it resonates with your consciousness.’ Yukina I love you but you gotta calm down sometimes lmao.

Jokes aside though, it makes sense. Roselia is the band with the greatest desire to make it big. Yukina’s writing her lyrics with the intention of captivating a large audience rather than putting her spontaneous feelings into words. It makes sense that they’re showy. If she overshoots the mark sometimes (which I guess is debatable depending on what people are after), that’s cool because she’s still learning.

I don’t really have anything to say about PasuPare and HaroHapi, except that reading HaroHapi’s fluffy pure lyrics and remembering Misaki wrote them is super cute considering how much of a pessimist she is. PasuPare may not write their lyrics but I do like that they have songs focusing on specific girls.

In short, I appreciate Bandori’s lyrics and I stress that Kasumi Toyama is a good kid who needs more love bye
