On their last day of work before Christmas, the members of Pastel*Palettes have planned to have a Christmas party at Chisato’s house, complete with a secret-santa gift exchange. Aya mentions Chisato’s dog, and Maya shows mild nervousness over seeing him as the girls make their way to Chisato’s house. Chisato dismisses her concerns, telling her that Leon is sweet, and he probably wouldn’t even bother them regardless. She also comments that it’s about time Maya got over her fear of dogs anyways, and that maybe interacting with Leon would help; Maya seems momentarily disheartened by this, but concedes that Chisato is right. Maya is mostly silent the rest of the way there.
When they all get to Chisato’s house, Leon is napping, but the girl’s entrance wakes him up. He trots over to them, causing Maya to feel very tense, but he only noses at her hand for a moment before moving onto enjoying the attention and pets Aya and Eve are giving him. Maya manages to control herself and stay still. Hina makes a comment about how Maya ‘did better’ that time, which Chisato agrees with and commends Maya for, telling her it’s a step in the right direction. Maya is happy with herself over the progress, and although she isn’t quite ready to, say, pet Leon, or really be around him for more than a second at all, she believes she’ll be fine with him walking around the house for the rest of the night.
The night continues; the girls bake some Christmas cookies or something, with varying degrees of success, and Hina makes a comment that Chisato’s house is not Christmas-y enough for a Christmas party! Chisato tells her that there are decorations in storage, she had just been too busy with work lately to put them up, and when she had time, she had needed to rest. Hina suggests that they all decorate the house together to make it fun. Everyone agrees that it’s a great idea, so they go to grab what Christmas decorations they can find out of a closet.
Their excitement excites Leon, who bounds after them, wanting to join in on the fun. Maya seems slightly nervous, but helps anyways. As Maya is carrying a box of ornaments to the living room, Leon rushes towards her and jumps on her, placing his front paws on her- not trying to knock her over or anything, just wanting attention! Maya. Freaks. Out. She screams and ends up completely dropping the box, causing several of the more fragile ornaments inside to shatter. The others get Leon away from her, and Maya, embarrassed and upset that she had broken some of Chisato’s ornaments and still rattled from Leon, is on the verge of tears. Chisato apologizes on behalf of Leon, and reassures Maya that plenty of the ornaments were fine, but also expresses mild disappointment that Maya had been scared of Leon when she had done ‘so well’ earlier. She tells Maya that she can do better and stay calmer next time, trying to encourage her but… not doing it the right way. Sensing the tension, Aya decides it’s time for the gift exchange! Gifts help everything!!!! Right?
Not quite. Maya opens her gift to find that it’s from Chisato. The gift contained lots of cosmetic products- skincare, nailcare, and haircare products, as well as some perfume, etc. As Maya opens it, Chisato explains that Maya needs to take care of herself more if she wants to have the right image, and that she hasn't seen Maya putting forth a lot of effort to improve herself and really look like an idol, and things like that. Maya, who had already been upset by the day so far, has finally had enough, and her and Chisato get in a very small, brief argument before Maya heads outside onto the balcony to calm down.
Back inside of the house, Chisato is upset- not so much as because of Maya, but because of herself. She chastises herself for speaking so bluntly, and expresses a desire to apologize and explain herself to Maya. Aya overhears and heads out to the balcony to talk to Maya. Aya shows sympathy, but also tries to reassure Maya that Chisato didn’t mean to hurt her, she was just very work-oriented and intended for the gifts to be encouraging, not upsetting. Maya complains to her that it seems that Chisato only ever criticizes her when it comes to her ‘image as an idol’, no matter how much she tried. She says that not knowing the best way to do makeup, or not having the best skincare products, or anything like that doesn’t make her any less of an idol, just like how her enthusiasm about musical equipment and general geekiness didn’t make her any less of an idol. Aya agrees and, realizing that Maya won’t understand unless she talks to Chisato directly, heads back inside, leaving Maya time to cool off before coming in and speaking to Chisato.
When Maya heads back in, the others (mostly Hina and Eve) have set up the Christmas tree and are putting lights and ornaments on it. When Hina sees Maya, she bluntly states that Chisato and her should hang up some garlands together and ‘make up’. Chisato and Maya, of course, go along with this, and get to hanging up decorations around the house.
As they work, they talk, of course. Maya explains her feelings from earlier and apologizes for reacting so emotionally, but Chisato dismisses the apology, saying it’s not needed and that she should be the one apologizing. She tells Maya a brief story about a movie she had worked on when she was young, where she had begun to get close to one of her co-stars only for said co-star to be released from the project early on because she didn’t fit the studio’s ideals after all, ultimately ending up in the project being cancelled anyways.
She says she knows it’s an irrational fear, but her initial strictness with Maya (and everyone) had been out of her desire to see Pastel Palettes, as well as each one of them individually, to succeed, and she just got accustomed to being that way. She apologizes for upsetting Maya and tells her she understands that she tries her best, and that she wouldn’t change Maya a bit if given the option.
Uh.. blah blah, more feelings, I can’t write this stuff well. Maya and Chisato decorate the house, and when they return to the living room, everything is done except for the star on top of the tree, which Chisato lets Maya place. Leon wanders back in, and Maya finds it within herself to give him a gentle pat on the head. Pasu*Pare Christmas party successful!!!!!!!

4☆ - MAYA YAMATO - Powerful - Stressful Gift Exchange
“Do I need this that badly…?”
Untrained: Maya is sat on the couch unwrapping Chisato’s gift to her, which had been wrapped in gold foil paper. She is currently holding fancy-looking lotion, with numerous other products in her lap, looking down at the gifts with an upset expression. The lights are dimmed and soft, and you can see Eve, sat beside Maya, looking at the gift curiously. Maya is wearing a black turtleneck and jeans, and Eve is in a lavender blouse and a jean skirt with black tights underneath. There are boxes with ornaments and other Christmas decorations in them in front of the couch, labeled “X-MAS”.
Trained: Maya is dressed in a green dress with red accents, Christmas lights surrounding her waist and white fur trim at the bottom of the dress.. Her hair is in two braids, each of which has red and green ribbons woven through it, and she’s wearing fake antlers on her head, with more Christmas lights hanging off of them. She’s wearing white stockings. She also has a looooot more going on with her outfit, because it’s Bandori, but I’m not good at explaining. It’s a very colorful, bright palette, with lots of silvery colors and glittery, shimmery textures. Christmas lights and garlands can be seen hanging at the top of the card.
4☆ - CHISATO SHIRASAGI - Powerful - Just As You Are
“Maya-chan, be careful…! Don’t look down-!!”
Untrained: Chisato is holding a chair steady for Maya, who is putting the star on top of the Christmas tree. Chisato looks slightly worried, while Maya has a determined expression on her face as she leans over to place the star. The Christmas tree is covered in pretty lights and ornaments, which creates a brighter look than Maya’s untrained. The other members of Pasu*Pare can be seen in the background, wearing random miscellaneous Christmas decorations as accessories because of course they would. Aya is petting Leon, while Hina and Eve are looking over at Chisato and Maya. Maya and Eve are, of course, wearing the same outfits described earlier. Chisato’s hair is pulled back into a ponytail, and she’s wearing a white off-shoulder knit blouse tucked into a yellow layered skirt. Aya is wearing a red sweater with a white suspender skirt and, and Hina is wearing a teal shirt under a jean jacket and black leggings.
Trained: Chisato is wearing a dress similar to Maya’s, except it’s mainly red with green accents. Her waist has twinkling Christmas lights around it, and her hair is in one long braid with more ribbon woven into it. Chisato is wearing a Santa hat and dangly gold bell earrings. She’s also wearing white stockings, and she’s holding an ornament which her reflection can be seen in. Once more, her outfit has a lot more to it than that, but words hard. Similar to Maya’s card, the colors are very bright and shimmery overall, but the card also has more of a gold hue. Christmas lights and garlands can be seen hanging at the top of the card, and there’s a Christmas tree in the background. A gift can be seen in the background.
3☆ - AYA MARUYAMA - Powerful - An Honest Talk
“She just wants us to do well.”
Untrained: Aya is with Maya out on the balcony. Maya has her arms folded over the railing, while Aya is turned towards her, one hand resting on the balcony railing and the other hand gesturing to Maya. Aya has a sympathetic smile on her face, while Maya looks upset, on the verge of tears. The night sky is clear and soft golden light pours out from the curtains behind them that lead back into the house, illuminating Aya and Maya with a warm glow. Their hair is slightly blowing from a gentle breeze, You can see Aya’s breath puff out in front of her due to the cold outside. Their outfits were already described earlier.
Trained: Aya’s dress is red with white trim, and she has a white fur-lined coat on over the dress that’s hanging loosely around her shoulders. Above her chest to the neckline, the dress is sheer. She has Christmas lights hanging around her, and her hair is in twin buns with red, white, and green bows, each with the tiny circular gold bells at the center. She’s holding a present with a tag that says ‘To: Chisato-chan’ on it, and there’s garlands and tinsel around her. The color palette is bright and warm.

3☆ - HINA HIKAWA - Cool - Wasn’t That Easy?
Untrained: Hina smiles at Maya, who looks relieved, as Leon is walking away from them, placing one hand on Maya’s back supportively. Chisato is also looking at Maya and smiling warmly, with her hands clasped. The lighting is neutral and bright, as they are in the entryway of Chisato’s house.
Trained: Hina’s dress is a deep wintery green and fur-lined, and there’s a white, lacy shawl wrapped around her shoulders. Hina’s dress is also sheer from above her chest up to the neckline, and her hair is in a high ponytail with a few bows in her hair. There’s a star-shaped clip in her bangs. There’s plenty of garlands hung up around her. She’s also holding a bundle of Christmas lights, in which rests a present labeled “Eve-chan’s gift!!!”.
2☆ - EVE WAKAMIYA - Happy - Pretty Ornaments☆
Eve is sat holding a few ornaments in her hands, wearing a red and green dress with white trim. She has a silver belt with a small bell at the center, and her hair is down with silvery ribbons woven into it, with a large bow at the top. She has on white stockings, and in her lap is a present that has a tag that reads ‘For Aya-san’.
