since it's (still) my birthday, i figured i might as well share something awful: some of my art from 2016.

And thus ... my chibi series ends with a BANG!!! (Dream.) RAS was the most challenging band to draw, because all their costumes are so NUTS but I LOVE THEM sooo much, I really really hope you like them just as much as I had fun drawing them! (still love how Pareo's hair is eating up almost all space around her hahah~)

hey hey remember my fanband intro posts? yea so I'm aware I skipped 4/5 of Kaleidoskope and aurora aurea's vocalist but I already had a doodle of Yanagi around and I felt like drawing him up properly, and also he's already shown up in Sirenity's band story, so uh ... here we go?

I don't know if this is truly my place. I don't ... I don't really know anything. But maybe, if I continue down this path, I'll learn to understand him ... And maybe myself, too.

Yanagi's story ties greatly into that of his twin brother Kaede. as mentioned in Kaede's bio, the two brothers grew up mainly raised by the staff members of their prestigious family and as such have been very attached to each other since childhood. however, their relationship became strained after a certain plot point that no I still do not feel like revealing (all I'll say is it has to do with their family standing), and while Kaede is trying to move on and holds a deep grudge toward him, Yanagi is working hard to mend their relationship. ... I mean, he's failing, because he's a loner who's really not good at the whole communicating thing and has no idea how to get through to him, but he's trying!

being expected to learn an instrument, Yanagi took up the violin and Kaede the piano when they were children, but while Kaede never really cared that much about it and tried to quit after their falling out, Yanagi absolutely adored playing music and it became one of his most treasured things. in the same way that Kaede tried to avoid the piano because it reminded him too much of Yanagi, Yanagi threw himself into practice, clinging to the connection they once had. Rinto, aurora aurea's vocalist and leader, saw him play at a rehearsal and decided to scout him for his newly formed band, at that time unaware of his connection to Sirenity's keyboardist. Yanagi refused at first since he didn't think very highly of bands and frankly he was also sort of busy, but decided to join after all in an attempt to understand Kaede's feelings better.

Yanagi is studious, dependable, and an important member of the student council as well as an expert at dealing with his family's clients ... but as soon as you throw him into an actual social situation that isn't based solely on getting to a clearly defined pragmatic goal, he has no idea what he's doing. he prefers being alone and spends most of his time off practicing the violin or reading, and while nobody (aside from Kaede) really dislikes him, he doesn't have any strong connections outside of his brother. he's also prone to not getting jokes, something that makes him one of Inari's (aurora's flautist / boy for everything / resident trickster) favourite targets for messing with. aurora is a band formed for merit and not for friendship, so it takes a while for him to grow attached to them, but both Rinto and Yuuta (their keyboardist and a music teacher at Yanagi's school) somewhat take to him eventually as he slowly, sloooowly learns to come out of his shell and try harder to open up.

tragic twin the 2nd, I do so love making them suffer ... once I finally get to aurora story (I've actually been writing Kaleidoskope's, making progress, be proud of me--) I'm super looking forward to writing him cause there is a Lot here and so far we've only really seen Kaede's side of it aaaaa

This ended up being one of my favourite sets~ I really, really love the girls of Morfonica and their aesthetic!! I was a bit afraid to draw their costumes at first, but it's been surprisingly fun (❁´▽`❁)✲ﾟ

my wonderful username sister brought it to my attention that i haven't posted a piece of art on here in like a dozen decades so here i bring you a pareo redraw from almost a year apart!! i still think i could do better than the present redraw but its still improvemtn all the same and thank the lord i improved from that monstrosity that was made in july of 2020

Happy weekend, everybody! I've almost completed this project. I chose Roselia's initial clothes' designs because they're really memorable, right? Still looking good after all this time, I especially love how they're drawn in the manga. Also, not gonna lie... Roselia dresses are really intimidating to draw...!! I hope I still could do them justice!
