Someone a while ago used to do some random card appreciation posts (I can't remember who it was, sorry). I kind of want to do something similar.

So I went in card list and clicked on the random button. I got:

Something I like about this card:

The posing. It's simple, but I like how the wind is working with her.

Something I don't like about this card:

It doesn't seem too original. It's a collab tho so they can't just randomly change the fact that the characters are always in school uniform.

That's about it. I'll probably do that again sometimes. Feel free to do it too, I'd be interested to see your opinions on random cards!

Do you agree, disagree ? Some of them were surprising while some others were expected. Overall tho, it was a great year.

I'm really happy Catarina won best protagonist. I was sure some really random popular show would win (not that the characters are bad in those, I just preferred Catarina). And the epic moment where it wasn't Chizuru who won best girl... it was priceless.

I would've loved to see Megumi win for best voice actor (she did an amazing job in tbhk), but Yusuke Kobayashi is fair as well. He's great. Hell they all are great.

There's one thing I'm disappointed about: Deku vs Overhaul fight won the best fight... Ok, don't get me wrong, it was a nice fight (really), but there were better ones.

I'm scared for next year tho. I heard countless amazing things about the last season of Attack on Titan and I'm scared it would win almost everything next year. I know it's great, but it would be really boring and horrible for the other shows airing this year.

Top 5 best sets

5: Starting, Going Heartbeats with 34,5% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

This set was really pretty! I really liked the white and warm tones used in those cards. The untrained cards were also really pretty. It deserves its place in the top 5!

4: Illuminating Fairy Garden with 36,4% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

First Morfonica event! Obviously, this helped the set to get in such a high place, but the cards are also really pretty and give the Morfonica vibe :)

3: Glowing Raindrops with 38,2% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

No wonder it made it into the top 3, this set probably has the best backgrounds and art from 2020! The cards are really pretty and spring-like.

2: Decisive Battle! Neo Fantasy Online: Evolution with 47,3% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

Bride event is always amazing. This year is no exception, the cards are incredible!

1: White Mellow Snow with 63,6% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

It’s baby Hikawa twins. What else? Those cards and outfits are really pretty. They give the same vibe as Christmas Afterglow 2 years ago.

Top 3 of less liked sets

3: Highly Praised Dramatic and Let’s Go! Tow World Tour with each only 7,3% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

For the first one, there’s nothing particularly wrong with it, it’s just pretty forgettable unfortunately.

As for the second one, it might just be me, but the art from the Hina card is really weird. It feels like they got the face or position wrong? I mean, I’m not an artist, but this feels a bit weird. As for the other cards, either forgettable or have a weird butt angle (yeah, it’s poor Lisa again.)

2: Joining Lights: Road to Prism with only 3,6% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

Ouch. Yeah, it’s hard to believe that this is actually a band story set. The cards lack originality and the art seems a bit neglected. No filter, special pose, expression, angle, background… It was a bit disappointing.

1: Lesson to The Future and Adult Chic Mode with each only 1,8% of people considering it as one of their favourites.

Lesson to the future is not a surprise… I think that everyone can agree on the fact that we’ve had way better. Especially for the Kaoru card, which is easily one of the worst 4* of the game (for me). The Touko card is cute tho.

I don’t understand Adult Chic Mode… Okay, it’s not the best set, that’s for sure, but it wasn’t that bad… was it? The School Life Memory set was worst in my opinion, but it didn’t get in the worse ones. Opinions really can change depending on who you talk to.

Let's talk about backstage pass 4

This year: Drummers!

Who do you think it will be?

I think it's gonna be the 5 girls from the 5 first bands. I have no problem with Morfonica or RAS, but Backstage started with the 5 first bands and I think it will continue like this. Moreover, RAS and Morfonica kind of already had remake with their initial 3*, as their 4* really look like an upgraded version.

But who in the 5 first bands? Kanon would've been my first choice since her 3* would bring a lot of opportunities for a 4*, but she just had a card so it's very unlikely.

I thought Ako was gonna get one, but here again she had a card really recently…

So with that logic, it should be Maya and Saya. I would’ve loved Tomoe since backstage is powerful. But bandori seems to be trying to break Sayo’s achievement of « not having a certain type of 4* for the longest» with Tomoe. We're almost at 4 years! Don't give up!

Jokes aside, My choice would be Maya and Tomoe. No hate on Saya, but I think Maya’s card is more interesting.

I can't believe that they actually did it.

And I'm not happy.

Kanon's 3 last 4* cards were pure. Don't get me wrong, Kanon in band story 3 is welcomed, but the type is a problem. For now, the maximum number of times a 4* was of the same type in a row was 2 and it didn't necessarily happened a lot (tho it seems to be a recent trend... bandori is losing it).

I can't anymore... the event type is one thing, but the cards type is another. Not having a happy event in 8 events is bad, but not having a different type of 4* for a girl for more than one year (because by the time she has another one, it'll be close to a year and a half) is really bad. It makes forming teams so much harder.

Sorry for the rant, I had to say it.
