So, folks, it’s time to share my 2019 journey (aka Bandori journey!)
It all started with something on another website. @CallieCornet was hosting voice auditions for a Bandori comic dub, saw some of my voice acting, and asked if I could try out.
I was wondering how on earth I could imitate their Japanese voices, especially when I didn’t even know the characters, and so I started researching them and looking at different stuff about them. I discovered that BanG Dream was a mobile game, but I didn’t have my iPad yet and I couldn’t get it.
I did the audition and got the parts of Ran, Kanon and Arisa. I watched bits of the anime (but stopped because of all the ads) and read all the comics. I had completely fallen in love with all the characters (except for Roselia, :P).
Soon, I got my iPad (I’m using it to type this right now) and quickly downloaded BanG Dream.
I was HOOKED.
I’ve never been one for rhythm games. I’ve always thought they’re super hard and I can never tap the notes at the right time. To be honest, they totally frustrate me.
But I started slow, playing the easiest Easy songs, and soon, I progressed to Normal. Then Hard. Now I mostly do Expert, anything below 27. (I’m too scared to do 27 songs . . . I can barely get past 26, lol.)
Anyway. About pulls! At first, I didn’t even know the ten play was a thing. I just did solos over and over again whenever I got enough stars (pathetically thinking I got stars for each song I played. I should have saved them from the beginning, but . . . Sigh. Rookie mistakes, rookie mistakes.)
I got super excited over each new two star I got, and I didn’t know that you could get two stars with costumes you already had (like Stage ones) or dupes.
Poor, unknowing me.
Well, anyway, then I came across the Summer Step Up gacha. I really wanted those stamps, so I read everybody’s band stories and soon scrounged enough to do a pull. I got Our Beginnings Hagumi, and a few new three stars, and a couple new two stars! I only got two dupes.
So from that day, I thought pulls would always get you a four star. In the Summer in the Land of Shining Water event, I did my second pull and got White Beginnings Aya.
But then I did three pulls in Tied to the Skies for Moca.
Two new two stars.
No new four stars.
No Moca.
That’s why I was so worried and nervous about the Christmas Afterglow event, because I thought Moca hated me and she wouldn’t come home. Well, she did!
Oh, and I forgot! I also got Sunny Chisato in the Dreamy Promenade event from the stars we got from . . . Something? It was 1k of them. Maybe the second election deal? And also, I was on a family trip when the Halloween Dreamfest happened, and I was super disappointed because I got home the DAY after Dreamfest ended. Frustrated, I did a solo in the Halloween Night box, and I GOT HALLOWEEN AYA!!! I never believed I could actually get a four star from a solo, and outside of Dreamfest!!!! Obviously, it wasn’t completely amazing because I already had White Beginnings Aya, but . . . Still amazing!
Anyway, a little bit after little Afterglow, I joined the wonderful BanPa community!
I might add some more to this because I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of stuff, but for now . . . Happy 2020, everyone! <3
