I didn't plan to draw something for Aya's birthday (or to draw at all today, actually) but uhhh drawing mood hit me like a truck and here we are.

happy one hour belated merry christmas lol (to anyone who sees this that lives in GMT+11) I decided to draw a Christmas version of Kanon but halfway through adding colour, I remembered Kanon had a Christmas version of her card but I couldn't be bothered to change it anymore. her pose thingy was traced from one of kizuna ai's official art except for the arms tho (lol) (if anyone wants to know the what the art looks like, here's a link to it: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/3239562)

The CN shuffle band art is stunning but it makes me sad that J-Rock has never won? And Techno-Pop which is also very boppin’ but J-Rock is def my fav along with the hell band so. J-Rock appreciation time!

What I love most about them is like. The potential. I’d say each canon band has something that defines them and ties the members together, and I think out of the shuffle bands J-Rock exhibits this the most clearly. I feel like they’d work really well in an AU. All of the members have some sort of rebel streak/determination to prove themselves or at least value individuality highly: we’ve got Ran whose voice comes across so strongly in her songs, Tomoe’s passion that’s so Much sometimes she has to keep it in check, Rimi’s desire to be her own person instead of a shadow of her sister, Eve and how bushido helps her be the best person she can be even if other people think she’s weird, and of course Sayo with her inferiority complex and burning need to find her own sound. Like. Imagine how great it would be if these different but like-minded girls got together and created something that made them stronger in all the right ways. Ran finding an outlet for all the feelings she keeps bottled up (this is canon but y’know). Tomoe finding a place where she doesn’t need to hold back for the sake of others. Rimi bursting out of her shell and playing music she wouldn’t have dared play before. Eve being her wonderful bubbly bushido self with no agency there to tell her what to do. Sayo being drawn to the rawness of Ran’s singing like Why? and slowly learning to forgive herself for not being perfect

And the interactions. God. Sayo, Tomoe and Rimi bonding over being sisters. Ran and Sayo butting heads over passion vs technique and gaining more of both by the end, with Ran leading creatively and Sayo grilling everyone so they polish up their skills. Eve and Rimi are just absolute rays of sunshine and amazing moral support but damn do they go hard when it matters

Of course there’s the question of whether early Sayo would join a band like this but just imagine she did ok. Imagine she found Ran before she found Yukina and there was something there she couldn’t ignore. Take this AU Sayo who helps push this little indie band to success and discovers that her sound can be whatever she wants it to be

hey, remember Bandtober? yea so I may be over two months late, but better late then never, right? ... right?? uhm anyway here's day 4. it's supposed to be bassists, but it's all a mess now, so. 3rd in band order.

left to right, itsumodoori:

Kagami Setsuna (HOP✩STEP♡DREAM) - Guitar

• university 1st yr, studying law
• was friends with Setsuna and Ana before meeting Aguri and Riko, ended up joining the band with lots of enthusiasm
• giant fan of magical girls, she was the one who came up with HSD's theming
• a social butterfly who wants to be friends with as many people as possible and doesn't like it when others are left out of something or feel lonely, but she can come off a bit strong because of that

Amane Ichirou (Sirenity) - Bass

• high school 3rd yr
• Ria's senpai who used to play music with her after school and suggested making a band
• has background as a studio & backup musician for bands who need a bassist, through which he knows Daichi
• a friendly, but reasonable and pragmatic person who doesn't think highly of himself or believe in being able to fulfill his dreams, but he can't resist the urge to at least try, aided by the support of his family, whom he loves above all

Miyadera Suguru (*KALEIDOSKOPE.) - Bass

• university 2nd yr, studying economics
• within Kaleidoskope, the one who takes their separation from Rinto the hardest; Rinto taught him how to play bass back in the day and he saw him as something of a big brother
• due to his terrible home environment, Hajime's (Key.) family basically all but adopted him when he was small and he considers them his own family. he now lives together in an apartment with Hajime
• somewhat confrontational and sceptic, though he's too polite to really act on his feelings most of the time; he knows not to take things for granted

Kagehira Daichi (aurora aurea) - Drums

• 21yo, works as a professional musician
• was scouted into starting aurora with Rinto and Inari by the former
• somewhat infamous among the people that know him because of his aggressive attitude and tendency to rile people up, sometimes leading to pretty bad results mentally for the ones involved with him (see Ichirou's self-worth issues)
• just a pretty damn terrible person all around, but easy to work with if you can disregard his atrocious personality; he takes music very seriously and his pride won't allow messing up in the band

am I gonna finish the fourth and fifth one before December ends? ... no

Aya has been one of my best girls for most of the time I've known Bandori. I love everything about her—her voice, appearance, personality—and I can relate to the fact that she has stage fright at first.

What I admire the most about Aya? She's like a role model to me, because she never gives up and always works hard to reach her goal. I want to be like that someday :)

happy birthday aya! easily one of my favorite characters in the franchise- youre so adorable and quirky imo and maybe even clumsy, but you definitely try your hardest in all that you do and it shows <3 also I can’t believe you don’t like your mcing okay that was hilariously beautiful
