Day 18: Your favourite family dynamic

I love all the sibling relationships!! But I’m lowkey using this challenge as an excuse to shout into the void about various things so let’s talk about this instead (I reread Roselia’s BS1 again and it got me thinking)

Like the potential of this intrigues me. I know Bandori doesn’t give much focus to parents bc that’s how idol-esque franchises are but there’s so much here we don’t see that I’d love to see. The thing with Yukina’s dad obviously must’ve affected him really badly bc it’s what turned Yukina into the girl we’re first introduced to. But we never actually see her life turn upside down bc music had always been what connected her with her dad and suddenly it was gone and she had to watch him deal with the aftermath and had no idea what to do (a bit more is shown in the Roselia manga but not much). It’s easy to say “Yukina’s just an angsty overdramatic teenager” and don’t get me wrong she IS overdramatic have you seen her lyrics—but what happened really was a big deal and led to all of them ignoring the elephant in the room and acting like everything’s normal and it’s like, how long have things been like this? How long has it been since Yukina’s had a conversation with her parents without hiding anything?

I wanna see how things progressed to this point, how much Yukina hated the whole situation but had to slowly get used to it. Waking up one morning wanting to sing and remembering their family doesn’t do that anymore. Or coming home one day to find all the music magazines and every other reminder of music in the house gone. Absently humming one of her dad’s songs from force of habit and not realising until he gets up and leaves. Sitting alone in her room wondering how to make things go back to the way they were. I’m just making myself sad now

So anyway we get this whole setup and then in A Song Unfinished Yukina’s dad suddenly waltzes into her room, reminisces about LOUDER and gives her singing advice and Yukina isn’t surprised or anything?? What happened there was it a retcon or did something happen offscreen I wanna KNOW. Craft Egg give me the secret Minato household content

Something I like about this card:

Her pose and expression just scream Eve to me, she’s being her best bushido self and having the time of her life. I like the confidence in her stance and the kinda goofy little >:D is just so Her I love it . . . Her hairstyle is adorable and the shade of purple on her jacket is really nice too I want it

Something I don’t like about this card:

Nothing much but maybe the lighting/shading could be a little more dramatic and the bright reds kinda draw attention away from the top half of the card?

This is unnecessary but can I just say I'm annoyed at Endori for translating Touko's name into Toko?! It looks so weird and in my native language, "Toko" means gecko-

Minna, ossu (I guess I’ll use this as my greeting from now on because why not)! I don’t know about y’all, but I love ranking and creating tierlists for things I’m passionate about, so I’m gonna challenge myself to rank the entire Bandori franchise. Everything? Did I just stutter? Yes, everything. Okay, maybe not everything because it’ll make this post super damn long, so almost everything. I want to do a “One Week Challenge” where I rank each of the categories I listed below for all seven bands everyday starting from today, hence why I called it “One Week Challenge”. I shall start this challenge off with the main band of the franchise, Poppin’Party. No, it was a dreamfes card so there are low chances of me obtaining it anymore. :,D I would like to have it though.

Something I like about this card

The outfit is really pretty and her expression is cute. I love the sunset in the background- really Afterglow. I prefer the untrained version though- we get to see Moca in deep and serious thought.

Something I dislike about this card

The shading on her face is a little strong, but overall this is a really good card. It's a dreamfes card, so it kinda has to be good lol.
