Nija

folks, let me teach you something ... know when to say no when people ask you for help. even if it sounds fun, even if you actually really feel like doing it, unless you know you have the time and patience for it be sceptical because it's going to be stressful

"can you sing this original song with really hard timing for me, pitch-perfect, from a sample that makes it kinda hard to hear what's going on, with no pay?" no problem pal you need my voice I'm here!!

"hey Nija can you draw a big illust for our website in a dl of ~a week even though that's something you usually take much longer for even when you don't have class?" absolutely friend who else is gonna do it!!

"yo can you switch presentations to a completely different topic and a much earlier date on short notice" sure whatever you need!!

no. don't do that. don't be a fool don't end up with several deadlines around the same time and this time it's not even the fault of your terrible time management and procastinating tendencies it just all happens to be a bunch of things that take lots of effort falling together

also ... if you're good at something ... never do it for free. about that song, I was on the way to uni tryna figure out how to do the harmonies when it suddenly hit me. why am I stressing over this. this isn't a commission. I don't owe anyone anything. but I already promised I'd do it PLEASE VALUE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT THIS HAS BEEN A PSA

I'm actually glad I did that illustration and I knew what I was getting into when I took up the offer, and it's getting paid at least, but Boy my head hurts from staring at SAI for too long now. at least I'm done with 2/3 of these things now and I've got the presentation scheduled through but sHEESH
