Day Eight: Favorite Pasupare Girl- Chisato Shirasagi
She's probably the most out of place in my favorites, since basically all the other girls who made it there are relatively friendly, or at least willing to try and be? But Chisato really started off as not at all willing to even try, yet she made it to being a favorite. And it's all because of her development!
I'll admit, despite pasupare always having been my second highest level band (behind harohapi, mostly because I happened to get a lot of 3 and 4*s for them) and one of my favorites anyway, I hadn't bothered watching their event stories for a while. But one day I sat down like, "y'know what, I want to watch their stories", picked the one I wanted to watch the most to start with, and ended up two days later with having seen all of them (it would've been faster if my phone actually HELD ITS CHARGE). And from watching all of those, it sank in that Chisato actually had very interesting character development! Then I finally got their last couple levels for their first story, finished that (accidentally fc'd pasupa revolutions on hard on my first try), started watching Luminous Once More (first rewatching the parts I had seen since it's been months), had to go to sleep, and finished the next day full of emotions on that story and even more on her! (and fc'd luminous once more by accident as well)
I had started my game during Luminous Once More, actually, but since I started in the middle with no clue what was happening, I didn't get that far into it, but also didn't understand the story, and it made me think very differently of Chisato than I should've. Honestly, I hated her at first.
But after going through the original band story, it really did sink in that she's kind of caught up in an inability to show her real self and is so used to faking who she is she doesn't really know who that real self is that much anymore.
She might call herself a boring person, but I think she's incredibly, incredibly interesting. She's a deeper character than I was expecting, and it took me most of the time I've been playing to realize she's really good, but it hit me and she shot from being a character I disliked to one of my solid favorites.
(Despite how much I love her, no one can make me stop calling her "cheese toe". I saw it ONCE but now it's just what I say all the time.)
And now I'm writing a fic that kind of goes into how she's changed over time! Or, I would be, but I'm stuck at the moment. I might've unstuck myself last night though!
Anyway, sorry for the wall of rambling about Chisato. About all you need to know: I think her development is very cool.
