i just read the translation for the current JP event with Kanon and Chisato, and after reading it, I have now solidified my love for Kanon Matsubara. She is the cutest little thing that I have ever encountered, and I want to protect her with my life. The story shone so much light on Kanon's and Chisato's personal challenges that they have trouble overcoming: Kanon's poor sense of direction and Chisato's fear of riding on public transport. But reading through the story, I had a stupid grin on my face every time they did anything, pretty much. Like, you can see the transformation that she went through from when she first joined HHW to now, and it brings a smile to my face. I feel like a father seeing my baby grow up into a fine woman, and it makes me so happy.
And let's not forget Chisato. She went from someone who only really cared about herself, so much so that I hated her when she was first introduced, to being someone who really thinks about others and cares for them, which made her just shy of my top 5 favorite girls. Like, To go from my most hated to one of my favorites is a miraculous feat. And this event just showcases all the things that Chisato has learned throughout her time in PasuPare, and I....I can't get enough!
I also really enjoy the type of relationship that Kanon and Chisato have. Right when they first met, Kanon, being her clumsy self, gave a poor impression to Chisato, but Kanon treated her like a normal person. Not some celebrity like all the other students. A regular person. Which caught Chisato off guard. But it allowed Chisato to have someone to talk to normally, and I really, really love that. The way that these two goofballs just bounce off each other and mesh so well can only be described as a relationship built on trust and respect over many, many years. It reminds me of how everyone in Afterglow kinda bounce off each other, albeit not as goofy. Which is how childhood friends should be. And I can't get enough.
This post is getting pretty long, but I just needed to get this out there. Whoever writes the stories for Bandori deserves a freaking gold medal because this story, and essentially every story, is written so well and it has so much character development that really fleshes out each and every character. Kudos to you, bandori writers. Keep doing what you're doing.
And for those of you who haven't read the story, I highly, highly recommend that you read it. u/MeltyCandle11 on the r/BanGDream subreddit translated the entire story, and I can't give enough thanks to them for doing this hard work. Link is here for you to check it out. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fwmV5wZ1-4oxjg6yqT42u0ElgvuvDJIznR5334hpPBk/edit?usp=sharing
And if you need any takeaways from this about me, its that I love Kanon and I approve of ChisaKanon. Sayonara!
