You heave a deep sigh as you wait for the audience's glowsticks to show up.
Tonight you had a concert, an important one.
You had never been able to perform flawlessly this song, but, tonight, you'd prove that you, too, can be outstandingly skilled.
Impatiently tapping the sides, waiting for the right timeーthe silence whilst this actions you performed creeped you a little, it was eerily quiet, so quiet you could hear your own heartbeat. A very unsteady heartbeatーgiven you were nervous.
No., you say to yourself, I mustn't allow myself and my performance to be flawed by my nerves.
Wait, nervous? Like Sayo said, if you were nervous, you simply hadn't practiced well or enough. Maybe that's why? Maybe you should've practiced more...?
No.
You sort your thoughts. This is the moment. You have to be in it.
The music began. Notes flew at you, and you vigorously tapped at them, trying to get that full combo. You manage to slay the intro with Perfects and Greats screaming in your face, and barely survive the severe depression of getting a good on the end of a slider.
The chorus has come, and you once again hit the notes like there's no tomorrow. The innumerable Goods makes your confidence slip away, deceiving you. Ah well, you sigh, maybe you can't full combo this after all.
It's nearly the end of the song, and then you notice a terrifying slider coming your way. You brace yourself, determined not to get a Good.
You grip the green note and slide your fingers all across the screen, trying not to let it go. Almost the end of the note, you hold on, and you hold on... and...
BAD
Your heart beat quickens in panic. You gulp nervously, trying to mentally console yourself that a single Bad doesn't mean too much.
Nearly at the end. You tap the notes lightly now, after forcing yourself to not cry at a terrible Miss that raided your stamina. You get even more nervous as Miss after Miss slaps you in the face, your girls' faces drooping, signs of being tired. You take a quick glance at your stamina, and are terrified at seeing the red of your HP bar.
The last slide note. This time, you're ready. You hold the note, tightly. Sliding it across the screen, you won't let it go. Not this time.
Alas, however, your fingers (or was it the game?) deceive you. Your jaw drops as you see the stamina dropping to 0, and the Live Failed message box pops up.
