Kaiton
In truth, THIS is the real reason why I haven't been doing much the past week. Unfortunately... because of my poor ability of explanation, I'm gonna have to leave out 'Card Art'... for now.
This is also the second time I've typed this... I messed up and completely got rid of the tab as I finished the first time...

Fan Event: Twin Gleaming Showers

Story

At Hazawa Coffee Shop, Lisa and Aya are discussing ways to get Sayo and Hina to spend a day out together. Tsugumi, having been (willingly) roped into helping, asks why they're doing this. They explain (via flashback) that prior to the event, Lisa and Sayo had run into Aya and Hina at the shopping mall, with the twins acting as you'd expect. They decide to get the twins to go to the upcoming summer festival so Lisa and Aya proceed to invite their respective band members. Hina, being free on the day of the festival, immediately accepts Aya's invitation. Sayo, reluctant due to her 'history' with rain, does eventually agree to accompany Lisa.

On the day of the festival, Sayo and Hina meet up at the planned location and find each other, confused. As if on cue, they both get a phone call from Lisa/Aya about how they can't make it to the festival because of something unexpected coming up. What they're really doing is watching the twins from the sidelines, along with Tsugumi. Hina, initially saddened, quickly perks up with the prospect of going around the festival with her sister, who rejects the idea just as quickly. However, thanks to Lisa convining her (because she never hung up her phone so she 'found out' Hina was with her), Sayo agrees to accompany Hina. As the two leave, their watchers follow suit.

This point of the event is when the twins participate in various activities, with Lisa, Aya and Tsugumi watching close behind. A theme that occurs is that one of the trio gets distracted about something related to what the twins are doing. When Sayo buys candy apples for the two of them, Lisa buys and eats yakitori, causing her to almost lose sight of everyone. When a Pastel*Palettes fan approaches Hina, that same fan approaches Aya who doesn't handle the situation very well... (Lisa and Tsugumi bid her 'good luck' before pursuing the twins.) Tsugumi is the only one who keeps a hawk-eye on the Hikawas and doesn't get distracted, though after the event (via card stories), she does indulge in activities.

Nearing the time of the fireworks (night having settled), Hina takes Sayo to a path that leads to a lookout point that Aya told her about beforehand to get a good view of the fireworks. However, just as they leave the main area onto the path, it starts to rain. With the idea coming from Tsugumi, the trio run off to where the fireworks are being launched in hopes that, if it stops raining, they can help out to get the fireworks launched faster. Meanwhile, Hina becomes extremely dejected that she can't see the fireworks with her sister and slips because of the wet path. Sayo is able to catch her before she lands, scolds her, and brings out an umbrella for the two of them, prepared because of Sayo's 'history' with rain at events. Hina recognises the umbrella and Sayo confirms it is the same umbrella that Hina brought to her when it rained one day (Umbrella For The Autumn Rain). Even though the festival stands were in sight, Sayo insists they still go to the lookout point, and they set off.

(This is the point where serious Sayo/Hina moments happen. Since I am not in charge of how their relationship develops, I will purposely leave it up to your imaginations.)

The rain starts to let up as the twins reach the lookout point, which gives a clear view of not only the main festival, but also the city. Right when Sayo says the fireworks can't go off because of the rain, they do. The twins stare at the fireworks together, left only with their thoughts. Sayo starts to speak up, but is interrupted by the booming sound of a firework. Hina asks what Sayo was saying (since she couldn't hear her) but Sayo remains quiet, only speaking up to say "Face forward. These fireworks only go off once. Make sure it lasts."

This was inspired by a fan comic! ...except the link to the translation doesn't work... I could find the original image if someone wanted me to get it, otherwise... No link.

I'm really sad it's taking so long to get the card art ideas finalised because coming up with costumes is absolutely the worst for me... The trained art descriptions are the only thing I've got left to do, and it's taken me nearly a week... So, this is where the post ends. I would love to know what you thought! This is the first fan event I've ever done, and I chose to do one with a big premise as well... This is a lot of fun to make, so hopefully more will come in the future!
