Well then, a new year has begun. First of all i want to wish you all a happy new year full of joy, new experiences and, hopefully, luck on your gachas.
And now, if you got the time and don't mind fam, pls gather around this old grandpa, cause i'm about to tell you the "tale" of how this last hours of 2018 and the first of 2019 were for me, and yep...that means it's GOING to be quite long...
This tale starts on the afternoon of the 31th. After having pass through a, as always "forced" and "weird", family reunion to lunch (Don't get me wrong, i love every single member of my family but, aside from my parents and older brother whom i see everyday, its always feels strange when we all gather for this holidays and i find myself with almost +20 people more under the same roof) i fulfill with my "traditional duties" and found myself free to hang out with my all life friends gang, so we go have some fun, take some drinks at our usual spot (and even get them for free as a token of apreciation from the owner for being regulars), then go for a few games at the basketball court near one of my friend's house, and finally the night was upon us and the time to party came with it.
In the gang we all really love acting, therefore, the first thing to do was going to one of my friends house for our annual "Call of cthulhu" role one shot (in the basics, this is like playing a campaing adventure, but instead of for a month or so is planned to long for a most shorter time), sincerely four of the most enjoyable hours i can spend in a long time. After that we all welcome together the new year between laughs and good vibes. At that moment one of my friends (the one that i call "my fellow afterglow fan") get us out of nowhere his "rock band" for the ps3, the guitar, the mic, the drums set and...you can imagine the rest...
But, probably for the excitement of the moment, we thought that playing just like that could be kind of plain and boring, so he suggest "Why do not we do a Russian roulette of performances and do three songs each? so that way we all can play either the guitar, the mic and the drum set".
This "game" as he explain us, consists in that all the nine of us that was there split into three groups and take turns to play three songs each group, but to put the spiciness we have to act as the role we've got assing by the instrument, for example if you are on the mic and Black shout is the song chosen you have to act as close as possible to what Yukina would do, if you are on the guitar then do it as Sayo, and as Ako if you are on the drums. of course after every song the other two groups have to grade your acting and at the end the group in last place has to face a "punishment".
Fam, if I had known what would come, I would probably have bitten my tongue before being the first to agree to that plan ... The guy was "crazy" enough to, somehow, come out with a custom playlist of bandori songs for the game!
And so, it was midnight...i don't remember the exact hour but my time to do the three songs performance, along my fellow afterglow fan and his girlfriend arrive. First song and i was on the guitar, "please be twinkle twinkle little star..." was the only thing in my mind, at least that could be easy and it would mean i have to acting as Tae...but noope...the song chosen was Yura Yura Ring dong dance.
"So, Grandpa, what did you do to act as close as possible to Hina?" can you be asking yourself right now, well... i tried to be as cheerful as i could during all the performance and, as soon as the song ends, I went "all Boppin" and almost literally throw myself straight into the arms of the poor girl who acted as Sayo before me, the fun part was that she decided to play along and try to dodge me but in the end i were able to catch her (not a single onee-chan escapes from Hina's arms fam, keep that in mind <o<).
The other groups rated our PasuPare performance and we went to the next song, for this the microphone was where I should be. As many of you could imagine, i was hoping REALLY HARD for an Afterglow song, but yet again lady luck decided to evade me and the chosen song was Happiness Happy magical. In the blink of an eye i'm starting to feel all the eyes focusing on me and the first thing i say to them was "You guys know that i can't do backflips right?"
Definitley THAT was the most revelating moment for me in the whole night, not because i was "forced" by the rules to act as one of my least "best girls", but because by trying to get in her mind in order to do it i was actually able to start to see the things at her perspective, and thanks to that, start to apreciate her more.
But let's finish this tale, which has become too long already. The time for our third and final song finally come, and at last I was able to sit at the drums and felt in my element while my fellow afterglow fan continue his attemps to teasing me, talking about how "my interpretation of Kokoro feels like it lacks something". At that moment i don't care anymore about which song were chosen. i'm already was "forced" to act as two of the most energetic girls in bandori so, what were my options right? and just by stay in the drums i knew it's going to be my "best girl" for that band. The final song for us was Heroic Advent and with that we end the game, calculate the scores and..get a tie in the second place between us and another group...so what did we do about the punishment for the "loser team"?...that, my childs, it's a tale for another day.
Thanks for reading this old man's "tale" if you got here. And once again I wish you all a happy new year.
