The characters of Bandori really surprised me. I didn't really like most of them very much at first. I actually really disliked most of Pastel*Palettes when I started playing. And I kind of assumed the characters were flat and boring. And boy, was I wrong!
I mean, sure, I still kinda think Kasumi is kinda generic, and I don't see much more dimension in Eve other than her Bushido-craze that is getting a bit old by now... but most of the cast was a pleasant surprise. Especially Tae. Based on her design I assumed her to be the most boring character conceivable, but turns out, she is best girl by far. Not going to dwell into why now though, as I got more characters to talk about too.
There is also Chisato, Hina, Sayo and Yukina, all four whom I found pretty dislikable and selfish at first, but now that I learned more about them, they just seem some of the most well-rounded and interesting characters I've seen in these kinds of stories.
Kokoro too, seemed so annoying at first, but now that I started listening to what she is always saying, and learning about her home eventually made me realize her background gives a really good basis for her strange worldview and a great motivation for her goals.
Even Aya is less generic than I first assumed!
Honestly, I was very skeptical about Bandori at first, but now I'm hooked because of the absolutely amazing characters it has. And I've been playing only for about nine days! I wonder what more I'll learn about all these lovely girls!
